I'm not planning on properly shiny hunting til after I get the Shiny Charm, but while breeding for a 5IV Jolly Mimikyu a shiny one hatched.

First shiny I've ever hatched rather than finding it in the wild, so am pretty hype.

The one that hatched right after it was 6IV too.

Currently chaining for a shiny stufful. I'm not really familiar with the chain method, on average, would you say it is faster or slower than matsuda? What's the lowest and highest number of encounters you've done for a shiny?

I've gotten 2 trough it 2 far, both times not even looking for a shiny. Exxegute and Rockruff, both were around the 20 mark but I'm sure that's pure luck.

You do need to catch them. However,it's only the 300 alola dex that you need to complete. Use GTS and it should be done in no time.

I have a full party that I grab from the box, the box has about 8 extra in it at all times. I go and check IVs, stock eggs, then go out and hatch. It's great, because the lady gives me about 6 eggs in the time it takes to hatch a party full.

Also them hatching at the same time is really nice

Finally hatched a shiny Eevee after a week of breeding every night after work. I wanted an Umbreon, but it has 5ivs in all but defense, so I'm considering maybe an Espeon instead.

Not sure what to aim for next. Maybe Mimikyu but it's shiny is barely noticable.

Caught my shiny Oricorio after a very long chain. I used an Umbreon to try to get a Modest one, but it turned out Timid, which is the next best thing. And then I ran into a shiny Cubone while looking for a Thick Club. Pretty good day.

Yea, week 1. Didn't know it impacted breeding this much. By comparison I've hahched ~3K eggs in the past, hatching 2 accidental shinies while passing egg moves. I'm probably just over 500 eggs in SM.
