I really like Lucario for my in-game teams because:

>It's decently strong for in-game teams, but not overpowered by any stretch
>Excellent level up movepool, not totally reliant on TMs (Bone Rush, Close Combat, Aura Sphere, Calm Mind, Extremespeed, etc)
>Learns great coverage moves (Rock, Poison, Psychic, Ground, Dark, Ghost, Dragon), so it can fit on almost any in-game team
>Can go Physical or Special, or sweep with SD/NP
>Forced to use a weak Riolu until it evolves, so it feels like you earned the evolution

Not sure how /vp/ feels about this guys, but I remember catching Honedge around Parfum Palace back when X and Y first launched and really loved the design. However, I soon saw how exploitable it would be with Swords Dance and King's Shield. Soon enough, everyone started giving me shit for it and before I knew it, it was in Ubers. I don't think most people hate Garchomp, they just hate how it's been in OU uncontested literally forever and all the other psuedos since have kinda sucked. In Gen4 it was probably a little more polarizing, but it's been a decade and at this point anyone who still calls it their favorite probably isn't just dickriding it for being OP'd anymore.
