Decidueye's whole hood-string bow-string deal is very well thought out and executed, and Incineroar being part Dark type to emphasise it being a heel is pretty cool, too.
Much better than the creativity that went into G5's starters.

You're pretty on the ball anon. I've softened on Emboar over time and always liked Serperior, so I'd rate Gen V as mediocre-decent for starters though, and the Gen II starters aside from Feraligatr are just okay.
