It's nto an exploit really. You have to repeatedly buy treasure hunt 2-star. The firs time you play the lottery it always gives silver bottle cap as a prize. If you keep rebuying it then replacing it, you can essentially buy silver bottle caps for ~300 Festival Coins.

That's not what I did though. I just saved up a bunch of FC and got 7 Treasure Hunts of various stars, some of them are 5 star. Every day I get at elast 1 bottle cap and sometiems 4+ with a gold included.

I can't run numbers right now, but figuring that the parents each have 5 IVs and one is holding a destiny knot, that guarantees at least 3 perfect IVs (assuming they get the shitty role where they inherit both parent's sucky stat - unless it is the same stat, in which case it turns into a 4 perfect IVs guaranteed). The rest are randomly assigned as you know, from a 1-31 value. So something like... a 1.5% chance to get a 6 with 4 perfect IVs guaranteed? Maybe? Can anyone else do math at this time

The general gist is that everything about an egg is determined long before you even put the parents in the day care. Including if it's shiny. As long as you're careful to not break the RNG chain, you can swap out one parent for another and get a shiny you want. Like I said earlier, I swapped out a Bagon and got myself a shiny Vulpix instead.

It's really only helpful for swapping crap shinies for something else. Or using something like Magicarp, which has the fastest egg hatch rate, to speed up your MMing for a shiny.
