Thunder wave is the only status move specifically coded to follow type matchups. This is true to the extent that normalize delcatty can hit ground types but not ghost types with it.

Every other status move does not care about type immunities. This is not to say that they can always work: for example, since steel types are immune to poisoning and the only effect of the move toxic is to poison, it seems like it doesn't hit because of type matchups, but that's not the case: poison moves like gastro acid do hit steel types.

You have no idea about how much distribution influences the quality of a move. Only a couple of decent mons get Rapid Spin, while pretty much everything gets Rock Smash. Rock Smash also deals more damage and has a clearly superior type.

That was the main point. Blastoise is and always will be my bromon and it upsets me that he got the short end of the stick when it came to kanto megas. While mega launcher certainly isn't bad (especially now that Blastoise has access to the rarely distributed aura sphere) it objectively sucks when compared to Venusaurs and both of Charizards mega abilities. A water pulse buff would be just the thing to give Blastoise a more competitive edge, maybe even push him into OU status like the other two kanto starter megas.

rototiller works on ground types as well as grass types and gives +2 to both atk stats rather than +1

metal claw and steel wing have their boost chance raised to 50%

first impression, add a 100% flinch chance to make it like a better fake out, still exclusive to golisopod

Powder lasts 5 turns rather than 1
