Either FRLG or BW was the hardest. And no, gen 6 was designed to be easy as fug even with exp share off.

FRLG was really easy. Platinum or SM are the hardest. ORAS is probably the easiest of the lot. XY is still fairly easy without the Exp Share but ORAS is just ridiculously easy.
