Lack of post-game, Rival Group an Diantha were all lifeless and had nothing going for them, it was too easy. After BW2 which had great characters and post-game it was just very disappointing.

I mean they have aged now so you could wait for the remakes but Platinum was great [and so was HG/SS if that counts]. The only thing about Gen 4 that I really didn't like is the cross-gen evolutions. I still hate mons like Probopass, Lickylicky, Mismagius, Rhyperior, Yanmega and Tangrowth. Glad that was the last gen to do that, they realized that was a mistake. Overall the worst pokemon designs in my opinion but gameplay was good. The lore especially made it nice.

3D yes, I'll give you that but that doesn't have anything to do with gameplay. It's just a technical advancement that continued on in the games after. You have to look at it at face value.

Look at the story, the gameplay, the characters, the post-game, the difficulty etc. Those things make the game, most things you mentioned are like peripheral advancements that come with every gen.

Also Megas were a mistake.
