I'm fucking sick of people ruining psychic types by turning them into fighting types. They already ruined Mewtwo, now they better not ruin alakazam by giving him a fighting form.

First let me explain. I am handicapped, and due to muscular distrophy have lost complete control of my legs and am wheelchair bound. Now being handicapped really fucking sucks, but especially as a kid at that age where you tend to gravitate towards superheroes and literally none of your idols are in a wheelchair or where relatable. They could all do crazy superhuman feats and I couldn't even fucking walk.

Do you know how shitty it was for me when playing pretend while my friends got to be batman and superman, and every time I had to be professor X? or when we played DBZ and I had to be mecha-frieza and my friends were trunks? really fucking shitty. But when we played pokemon it was different.

Now you know how exstatic I was when I found out there was a pokemon that doesn't use his muscles at all and instead fights completely with his mind. For the first time it didn't matter that I didn't have use of my legs, alakazam doesn't even use his body to fight. Because of this I developed a deep bond with psychic pokemon, especially kadabra. For once I could relate to someone so weak he could no longer rely on his own body and had to use his mind to defeat his enemies.

Yeah I know. But I feel like having two of the Alolan form lines being "basically the same thing but with hair" is kind of lazy. And I lean toward Dugtrio being better because, again, it looks like something that can form naturally, whereas you don't see magnetic filings forming beard-like patches on rocks. Plus it just fits the Hawaii theme better.
They both could have had something much more creative, but I feel Golem is the least creative one, especially considering they've already done the magnetic filings thing with Probopass.

I understand the reasoning behind it though; the pokedex is already bloated and its only going to get worse as the games go on. I'd much rather see a smaller selection of new pokemon mixed with regional forms to fit new niches than more new pokemon that are effectively the same as old ones with a new skin (Unfezant, for example).

Now how well executed it has been so far is a matter of opinion, but I think in theory it is the right thing to do. I imagine in the next game we'll probably hit 1000 pokemon in total; its simply not sustainable to keep cranking out new ones as they did in the earlier gens.

I think it is decently safe to say that Game Freak is better at redesigning nowadays than actually making new content, most of the gen 6 and 7 'mons are pretty bad and to no one's surprise these were the generations that introduced new forms for old 'mons.
I mean 7's roster is better than 6 don't get me wrong, but a lot of it is still highly simplified or just plain bad.

I don't think there are any purely special Fighting-types not named Keldeo. The only other Fighting-type with greater Special Attack than Attack is Lucario, and only if it doesn't Mega Evolve.

This is why I don't like Lucario, it takes too much concepts that I could be enjoying from other pokemon instead. The influx of the fighting type starters also keep them from developing really good stand alone fighting types

There was a rumor back in early November about there being a special Z episode where you and Zinnia would travel across the world to different regions. What made this believable is that each region was locked to a city and maybe a route. For example, Castelia City would also have access to Route 4, but it would be post BW2, so everything there if finished construction.

I half agree with you, Kalos and somehow Alola have a big problem with old mons, the former with its regional dex having more old mons than new ones while alola with the finging rate of some of their mons compared to old ones.
I wish a repeat of Hoenn and Sinnoh dexes where you can find a fine balance between old and new mons.
