All right, I'm mad now.

I've been breeding Zubats for over two hours with parents that should be able to pass down 5 perfect IVs except for SpA. What seems to be happening instead is I'm getting 4 perfect IVs, and their SpA. Over thirty or forty bats, and the fucking SpA keeps getting passed down. It's the same fucking number, each and every time.

This transcends bad luck or RNG. Has anyone else ever had this happen? Is my game fucked or what? I have plenty of other perfect 5IV 'mons. What is going on?

Well, last group before I went to bed and I got a 6IV Infiltrator Zubat. Only took 110 eggs, from parents that had all the necessary IVs between them. I don't think I've ever had worse luck breeding. I wouldn't have had to do any of it if GameFreak allowed trading between Gen VI and VII. Alas.

Gonna Wonder Trade some of these rejects before I go to bed, unless anyone wants them. I have all manner of 3/4IV male/female Infiltrator/Inner Focus Zubats, and a couple 5IV Inner Focus ones. Dusk Balls. I'll stick around for another twenty minutes or so if there are any requests.

Never ever use Hydro Pump in Battle Tree, it's RNG bait. It's fine for online battle.

That said, usually Starmie runs Hydro Pump / Scald + Ice Beam, and choose 2 from Thunderbolt, Psychic, Recover, and Rapid Spin. Rapid Spin is only useful for spinner in 6v6 though

Always go Timid.
With Modest you barely manage to outspeed +Speed natured base 100s at lv100 and actually ending up in a speed tie at lv50
EVs max out at 252, so you can throw another 4 of them into SDef or something.
For online, it heavily depends on your team, but for the tree, never go for something with less than 100% accuracy.

Surf,Psychic,Ice Beam,Thunderbolt @Expert Belt has put quit a lot of work for me in the tree.

You're better of finding something with slightly lower than the Tapus speed and do some damage calcs.
