The anime version of Mimikyu is fantastically creepy.

I love how it hates Pikachu so much it tries to kill him every time it sees him. So much for all those pics people drew of Mimikyu and Pikachu together being buds.

"Closer" can be interpreted in more than one way, kind of like "keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

But I think that the totem Mimikyu was lonely and envied that it wasn't a pikachu because of all the love Pikachu was given, as seen by all the posters, merchandise, and even the children's drawings of Pikachu. It's also possible that totem Mimikyu was actually a dead Pikachu and the blonde girl in the photos was its previous owner, wanting you to get a glimpse at its memories before battling you.

Meanwhile, we have anime Mimikyu who despises Pikachu in a very refreshing way. Can't wait to figure out its motives and hope to god they don't try to make Mimikyu just a shitty tsundere for Pikachu.

Ugly and boring imo. Also this isn't bait, although I know I'll get a lot of flak for it. I just think it's uninspired. "Let's make a Pokémon that wants to be like Pikachu!" And then they made it Ghost/Fairy for whatever reason. Also, it's additional unnecessary Pikapandering, like we don't have enough of that as is (Togedemaru, 2 (two) z-moves, hat-forms, probably more I'm forgetting.) Additionally, it's annoying in competitive rn because of how many people use it for its gimmick, which while a valid choice, is annoying because of its ubiquity.

I just overall really dislike this guy.

However, I don't mind people who do like it. That's a perfectly valid opinion.

Unlike if someone were to tell me they liked Incineroar. That's genuine garbage t b h
