Emerald was my first game and Blaziken was my first starter that I picked.

I just got back into playing pokemon games this year and I fucking loved using him in ORAS, especially with Mega Evolution.

Gen 4 is probably my most favourite set of starters. If I have to chose, my favourite would have been Empoleon (I really liked water-type)
I also liked Feraligatr, Samurott, Chesnaught, Primarina and Incineroar, though.

Pretty sure Samurott flips the shell idea:
>Pre evos = Shells are meant to protect yourself but uses them to attack instead

I feel Samurott has a more cautious use of it's weapons compared to how recklessly Oshawott and Dewott used them. Thats how I try to visualize why it doesn't attack with them as much.

Sinnoh had the best starters, desu. I like how they can all counter the type they're weak against when they evolve, and in Empoleon's case, even before that.
