Challenge wise she is actually the peak of the franchise not only level wise but mechanic wise as she has items that make sense, high bst mons, high BP moves and despite having 2 big weaknesses the neutral hits from her mons hurt like a truck.

Red has shitmons outside of Snorlax/Lapras and on several appearances has sub optimal sets outside of facilities, heck even in PWT his shitty starter team was considered the free win given how terrible it was when compared to the other champions.

Not really, B2W2 has one of the best pokedex in existence giving you game breaking shit such as Arcanine, Lucario and Magnemite with little effort.

Unova is one of those regions where you gotta try hard to get screwed thanks to their decent encounter rates and relatively high bst on normal and mid forms to accommodate the high evolution level of most mons.

Having coverage on game with tutors isn't hard, getting that skill link Cinccino can be game breaking, evolving that Gliscor/Jellicent to break the last stretch isn't hard either.
