I am currently torn between pyukumuku suicune and milotic on what water pokemon to use on my team
which one fills which niche?
>>30824467
Crocune and Pyukumuku Unaware fulfill basically the exact same role, except Crocune has longer survivability without setups. With setups, Pyukumuku is my choice personally.
>>30824760
what can pyukumuku do? no seriously, why would anyone ever have a reason to use a literal useless rock on their teams?!
>>30824781
Because they like it.
>Taunt
>>30824791
No, I don't care if you like it or not, I like it but it can't do shit other then dying and using innards out. Explain to me how you can use an unaware set with NO ATTACK MOVES.
>>30824781
It doesn't die and with unaware/curse it can toxic stall shit out forever.
Unaware with Toxic, Soak, Curse, and Recover is pretty hard to kill. It's a real one trick pony though and it's typing doesn't give it very many good resists.
>>30824781
Toxic/Soak/Recover/Protect
Unaware means nothing can set up on it. Soak means nothing is immune to Toxic. It loses out to Taunt and Magic Bounce walls it completely, but there you go. I've actually seen people have some success with it, mostly because people don't expect anyone to run the little fucker.
>>30824812
>>30824837
I don't believe you. I don't believe you that this thing is hard to kill at all. I'd like to see some calculations and detailed explanations of how it can effectively use its gimmick set. Make me want to use it otherwise shut up. its a shitmon and will always be a shitmon.
>>30824812
Actually curse is better on Baton Pass sets and Soak Toxic sets should run protect for more stall bullshit. Every Pyukumuku dies to Taunt and Innards out ended up being a complete meme.
>>30824861
It has base 135 defenses and Recover you retard. It isn't good but it is hard to get a clean kill on.
>>30824879
Everything outspeeds it dumbass. its a garunteed 2HKO with anything with super effective hit on it. Even a neutral attack can land two hits on it before it dies. you can't set up with it if you're just spamming recover shit for brains.
>>30824812
Solo Water is a plenty good defensive typing. Fire and Ice are common offensive moves. Only water pokemon and aerodactyl use water attacks but Steel, fighting and dragon mons run steel attacks and there are plenty competitively viable steel types running around.
>>30824917
But they wouldn't use a steel attack on it, they would use a neutral attack on it. Switch out clefable and let pyukumuku take the iron head. Ferrothorn or whoever uses power whip or any other attack on it. GG ez
What magic defenses are people alluding themselves to think it has any? It can't tank a hit.
Milotic always
>>30824760
>crocune and pyukumuku fulfill the exact same roles.
this is objectively wrong though.
>>30824810
> How it can use an unaware set without attacks
There's the bait
>>30825000
Fags.
I want something refreshing so Pyukumuku.
>>30825063
>milotic=homo
Kys.
>>30825081
there are better refresh users anon. pyukumuku is a literal joke-mon
Here is how it looks currently, but i see i lack any win condition
>252+ Atk Rayquaza-Mega Dragon Ascent vs. 0 HP / 128 Def Pyukumuku: 198-234 (78.8 - 93.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Its a very resilient lump of defenseless flesh.
>>30824861
>>30824879
So here's the deal, the thing completely relies on Soak and STAB-dependent 2HKOs. Remove the STAB, remove the 2HKO.
Example:
>252 Atk Life Orb Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4+ Def Pyukumuku: 82-97 (50.6 - 59.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
>Pyukumuku used Soak!
>252 Atk Life Orb Garchomp Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4+ Def Pyukumuku: 55-65 (33.9 - 40.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
>Pyukumuku used Recover!
Note this is with 0 held items on the Pyuku just to show what it does on its own. Unless that Garchomp got max damage RNG on both EQs, Pyuku will outheal and then it's up to good reads for calling a switch and Soak/Toxic punishing or to stay and Recover.
I love this poke with the favorite flavor berries, free Recover at <25% HP yes please.
>>30825127
>Mega Aggron
Aggronite isn't even in the game, anon.
>>30825256
Ah fuck, i will use some steel replacement while it becomes available
still undecided between the useless cucumber that never dies and the brick wall doggo of OU
>>30825222
why not sitrus berry or lefties?
>>30825303
always choose brick wall doggo. worst case scenario you get out walled or swept.
>>30825222
but then you just switch out garchomp to a water type or something that can finish the job.
>>30825340
I just know i need a manly steel type to shit on fairies, how is celesteela or Steel type null?
>>30824861
nobody cares
continue losing to the GOAT Pyukumuku, faggot
>>30825383
celesteela is bae.
>>30825383
>Steel type null
>>30825465
Steel type silvally*
happy?
>Trying to get Pyuku's HA
Fucking kill me.
>>30825481__________Yes_______
>>30824837
Do not forget that Water Absorb and Dry Skin mons cannot be hit with Soak. It doesn't matter very frequently but I got completely shut down once by a Toxicroak.
Question: I've been thinking about running a Curse/Baton Pass/Recover/Toxic (or perhaps Taunt instead) Pyukumu. Would Buzzwole be a good partner for it? Its speed is kind of shitty. I also considered Fluffy Bewear.
>>30825362
That's reasonable. The thing is, that's still hedging the opponent into a new position. Whether or not your team is built for that anticipation, is yet to be seen.
>>30825514
Use araquanid to change the ability then use snorlax to hold back then kill
>>30825086
No, I'm a fag so I'd rather kiss you.
>>30825545
Toxicroak is the only one with either that can't be poisoned.
>>30825584
why not z-purify for maximum memedge
>>30824861
Okay.

>no one had taunt
>didn't even try 3x Shell Smash Dragon Pulse
Yeah of course, any pokemon can sweep a retard.
>>30828097
>Boosting
>Unaware
Pick one and only one.
>>30828130
>Shiny HA Pyukumuku in under a month
Pimpnite confirmed for cheater
But does unaware ignore Taunt?
>>30828185
Nope, it shoots pyuku down.
but a Shiny Pyukumuku in under a month isn't weird at all.
>>30828233
I bet it has perfect stats too. Cheater.
>>30825321
The berries anon is referring to got buffed this gen. They heal half health at 25% now. It's a greater risk, greater reward situation.
