Yeah the listing of dex numbers was confusing. Another section just states "only what can be obtained in Alola" and I guess island scan mons count.

I was assuming the same thing as OP so I didn't bother training any of mine. Had I known they were legal a few of them really would have helped my efforts.

As for progress, as of yesterday I think I was on 9-6 or 10-5. Which is better than I was expecting for a half assed team I hastily slapped together.

I'm probably going to hate Mimikyu by the time I'm done with this. Every other team has one and they all generally do the same thing. Not particularly interesting.

so how do we pick up our BP

Where are all the Zygardes at? I've encountered /one/ so far, and it was Doge. I know everyone is packing ten kinds of hate for it, but surely that shouldn't make it less appealing?

That aside, most people have chosen not to bring their Lunala when they saw I had one. Can't imagine why, considering it's probably its own greatest check. The faster Moongeist Beam automatically wins.

A bit more understandably, most people have opted out of bringing their Celesteela upon seeing my Magnezone. Good shit. I love pokes who do their job without even being selected.

I had a guy keep using Shadow Sneak over and over while Psychic Terrain was up, was worth a laugh.
Also I've been shown what a good combo Ninetales and Sandslash are. Didn't help that I took my own Ninetales to that fight.

I picked Zygarde as my designated Special mon, 50% with Power Construct. Not particularly well optimized since I used it in-game but I just can't say no to Order Gundam.

Haven't encountered other Zygardes though. Plenty of Garchomp though so I'm assuming everyone just takes that as the better option. Seen a few Solgaleo and Lunala around, the latter giving me a bit of trouble.

I've run into a bunch of teams with Solgaleo, and none of them brought it into battle. The correct decision, but I'm laughing nonetheless. It's by far the worst of the special Pokémon. I can't imagine it ever catching a break in this format.

I'm using Zygarde with Power Construct as well, currently I'm 8-3 with 2 losses being disconnects from my end due to my poor net. Although my Zygarde is nowhere near perfect it runs through most teams as long as I keep Greninja away.

Yeah, that's always been the main drawback to running Hail in the past for me. Something non-Ice has to get Snow Cloak for a few more options or something.

Granted, I'm running a Snow Warning Ninetales anyway. With the added bulk afforded by Aurora Veil and the extra HP that comes from Power Construct, Zygarde usually shrugs it off pretty well at least.

I think at least two people brought Solgaleo into battle because of said Ninetales. Didn't really work out so well after a few Coils behind the veil.

I don't really need the BP, but I want to try fucking around with Zygarde, Lunala, or Magearna.

I did some testing on showdown yesterday, but I haven't played the actual event yet. The biggest things I noticed were a surprising lack of Zygarde and lots of Lunala, Koko and Mimikyu.

I ended up 13-2 too, the 2 losses involved a crit that basically made me lose the match, but rng is part of the game.

I was also sure that island scan mon weren't allowed so I was caught off guard by an Aegislash, luckily the opponent was so predictable and brutal swing Scizor came through.

Also, I don't get why people use only 3 mons, even if you plan on using the same 3 all the time you should still bring 6 mons so you won't be so predictable, the easiest match were against those 3 mons guys.

I have been running Encore Emolga. Buzzwole and Lunala become unstoppable once they get 2-4+ Speed. Some people are really stubborn so I just spam Electroballs until their electric mons are dead. Then Nuzzle the switch before baton passing unless it's something with a SE move against flying types.

Once I register my box can I still use those Pokémon in-game?

Havent been following the thread but why the fuck were all items banned when they made such a big deal about z moves. They pretty much made half of the pokemon that should be viable complete shitters by doing this.

Mimikyu easily can survive Koko's thunderbolt even when disguise gone. I don't test yet if doing two sword dance and then shadow sneak can kill Koko. Anyway, Garchomp can survive too from Koko's HP Ice.
