Have a bulky pokemon with a slow U-turn, so you don't have to take a hit switching in. Stealth rock. One pokemon with drought or sand veil, to prevent swift swim and snow slushers from outspeeding you, or use alolan ninetales for aurora veil. Sticky web to slow down the opponents. Safeguard to keep poison out of him.

All of the tapu's terrains are useful to porygon, bulu's grass terrain halves earthquake damage and gives him leftovers, lele's psychic terrain powers up psychic moves and prevent priority moves from wearing him down, koko's electric terrain makes his electric attacks even stronger, fini's misty terrain prevent status effects.

As for specific teams, just go to showdown replays and see what top teams use him and how.

Would defensive Scizor fit that role? There aren't any other good yet slow U-turn or Volt Switch users I know of.
