2018 will have a standalone Johto game. Gold 2 and Silver 2.

Isn't Ho-oh the only pre-Gen VI Legendary not to receive a movie starring role yet? Isn't it long overdue for them to wrap up that particular dangling plot thread?

you know, since the little kids now can really know how ash started his journey, unlike us 20 (and older) something year olds who were there since the 90s
