First time I've been interested in a Pokemon movie in a long time. Sure, maybe it's the nostalgia speaking, but I'd rather they go for a character-centered story rather than blatant mythical shilling movies they then try to hit the bare minimum of storytelling with. If they keep this as a simple tale of a kid chasing his dreams symbolized by Ho-oh it could actually be a pretty good standalone kid's movie.

I don't understand why Mythicals still exist anyway. They don't even have interesting in-game events for them anymore. Their lore is usually limited to their Pokedex entries.

Given then the Z-Move Mew may be an event distribution, the 2018 movie may be a sequel to the 2017 one. Hopefully Ash ends up catching Mew and using its Z-Move. He should be able to if he could use Pikachu's 10MTB.
