Reminder that Parasect is the best Mewtwo counter
I also had this magazine when i was young lad
>>30781297
>Poison is just too weak
>good resistance to Electric attacks
>With the very strong double kick attack
Stopped reading
>>30781297
>fighting types
>best
>RBY era
TEE HEE
>>30781297
>speedy Hitmonlee
>Aerodactyl good resistance to Electric attacks
gen 1 meta was shurely fantastic
>>30781297
>aerodactyl
>good electric resistance

T-thanks professor...
I remember when I was about 9 or 10 me and a friend had a trivia contest and one of the questions I used was "What Pokemon are immune to their weakness?" and the answer was supposed to be "the fossil Pokémon" because I didn't know the difference between Rock and Ground types and I was ignoring their weaknesses to things besides Electric.
>>30781531
>immune to their weakness
what
>>30781505
what the fuck
>>30781505
>"Use the Masterball on something like a Fearow or a Tentacruel!"
Was Oak the real antagonist?
>>30781297
What's funnier, is that gen 1 Parasect actually had a nice niche in hardcountering anything slower than it (Snorlax and Slowbro, basically) due to the sleep mechanics.
>>30781297
>ground/rock mons were so common in gen 1 they counted as 1 type
>>30781505
>Rare pokemon you can only catch once
>Fucking Zubat
This has to be malicious intent. You can't make this shit up.
>>30781568
I think he means what Pokemon has an additional type that makes it immune to something it would normally be weak to, like how Swamperts ground type makes it immune to electric.
>>30781626
That, and the Anime stated that Electric attacks didn't hurt rock types. Which I believed offcourse. The games only enforced this
> mfw I tried to thunderbolt a Cubone and it didn't work, yet the Anime showed ash Thunderbolting a Marowak
>Ground/Rock not useful in gen 1
>>30781505
Every time
>>30781531
Even if rock had been immune to electric, it would have still been weak to ice.
>>30781656
The anime also stated Water-types are weak against Fire-types :^)
>Rock/Ground not useful
>In Hyper beam: the meta
>>30781297
>Ground/Rock isn't a type that's particularly useful
>Golem/Rhydon were OU staples in Gen 1 meta
Why did every strategy guide for Gen 1 suck ass?
>>30781832
Hyperbeam, Wrap, Body Slam, Paralysis, Speedcrits: The Meta
>>30781297
>Mewtwo Blizzard vs. Parasect: 274-322 (84.8 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
>Parasect Hyper Beam vs. Mewtwo: 113-133 (27.2 - 32%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
Great counter
>>30781932
>confirmed underage
The strategy was Spore, Sword's Dance, Leech Life, and Rest (or Double Team...forgot which one).
There was also the strategy of using Slowbro as a counter where you just kept using amnesia, rested off the damage, then attacked back with Surf.
>>30781505
>Dragonite is weak to Hyper Beam, because it's Dragon Type
Nigga you wut?
>>30781531
The answer was Sableye. Unless you were in gen 1, where it would be all of the flying types paired with a ground-weak type. (Charizard, Zubat, and Zapdos)
>>30781596
No, he just really wanted to study a Fearow or Tentacruel.
>>30781505
>pikablu
Oh, so that is how it strated
>>30782017
>Leech Life
>trying to use Amnesia against Mewtwo, who is fast as fuck
Is this bait?
>>30781297
This book also consistently calls Chansey one of the worst pokemon.
>>30782968
It isn't perfect by any means, but they were the best strats aside from Explosion Snorlax.
