What were they thinking when they made this new tracker? What were they thinking?? I was doing some errands and felt like playing Pokemon Go. There were lots of rats and pidgeys all over the place on the tracker pointing to PokeStops that were much further than the usual 200m distance. What's the point of that? And showing repeats? Might as well give us more than 9 possibilities than if that's the case, or at least let us have some filters.

literally just give us a rival team niantic, maybe they could be purple or whatever and new gym type structures show up that could be called strongholds and you have to attack the stronghold either alone or with friends. if you are the first one on your team to beat the stronghold you get a bonus for fighting it. if you are the first one overall to beat the stronghold you get a bigger bonus. maybe the same daily bonus thing applies so that it goes up by difficulty from level one to seven and also gives more xp/stardust or maybe gives you gold coins if you beat it seven days in a row. the rival team could react to events or if a certain team is dominating the area around the strong hold.

I've done that. Not much recently but back when prestige was completely nerfed. I had no use for gyms but while walking up and down the central business district to grind mons for XP I'd take down gyms just to ruin other players days. Had no use for potions and revives so it was basically free schadenfreude. As long as I was hating the game, why shouldn't everyone else?

Looks like PoGo identify both xposed and root. Google updated safetynet again and as far I know chainfire's suhide and magisk don't work.

Spoofers give literally nothing to Niantic though. They have no reason to buy anything from the cash shop and they don't even provide any useable data to mine/sell because their behaviour isn't that of someone who's walking around irl. In fact if anything it makes it harder to detect trends in legit player behavior because it throws in a bunch of noise.

And for those reasons I'm acually not too bothered by spoofing, but saying that Niantic isn't getting rid of them because they want to keep the players is very unlikely, since they have a completely parasitic relation with the game.

They're artificially extending the life of their biggest cash cow. They game was destined to lose its initial hype, and now they have a good idea of what their core playerbase looks like. Every move has a DPS value, that factors in animation time and STAB. But generally speaking when you're attacking a Gym you want to use Attackers that have Charge Attacks that do the most damage in one charge because of the higher DPS.

I usually use a Cloyster with frost breath and icy wind against Dragonites. I don't even use his charge move, but frost breath is so quick it's totally worth using him even without having a useful charge move

I don't trust the numbers.
It feels like my jolteon with discharge (which has 7 dmg more per second than the quick move) needs too long to 1. fill the charge bar, 2. attack including the animation 3. go back to the starting position.
If i keep spaming the quick attack I do about the same damage, if not more, AND I'm able to dodge incoming hydropumps.

Over 20% of the userbase are spoofing with fly GPS atm. There is no way Niantic will willingly loose that number of players.

It's very annoying when tracking a pokemon to have either app close and have to open it up again.

Anyone else notice that the combat is off? Not the obvious of there only being a quick move and heavy move but that type effectiveness isn't what it should be. Some people have probably already stated this, or at the least noticed it, before. But I've only been able to battle recently and found that some attacks that shouldn't be super effective against certain pokemon still are. Am I crazy or has this always been a problem?
