They just need more dynamic poses, though some models are undeniably off proportion and look odd(nidoking, haxorus). Alola mons look better in general so it seems like they are improving. Definitely need to hit some of the old models again though, so many shit ones

however, it was completely dreadful and even more fucking saturated than the damn sprites

A lot of shinies took the change badly. Arceus looks like pale piss now, Scoliopede isn't near as striking, Espeon was actually passable if you liked neon green but now it's just gross.

I'm in the minority in that I actually really like Delphox and it's design...except when it's standing stock upright without it wand.

It would be cool if it took it out of its sleeve at the start of battle, but not over and over again each time it attacked.

Did they change any of the gen 1-6 models/animations in SM or did they just reuse XY's? I didn't notice any changes

Well, now it's gone full circle with stuff like the Alolan forms being too pale for their art. Just look at Alolan Dugtrio. Roughly the same color as Kanto Dugtrio, but the colors on the official art is extremely off. The Alolan Dugtrio art, not done by Sugimori, looks much darker and saturated than Kanto Dugtrio.

Anime and other games had a more vibrant palette than Sugimori's. I think the more muted colors were to go along with Kalos's soft pastels, but then they cocked that up with going to tropical regions for the next two games. It doesn't have to be as saturated as the sprites, but I think slightly upping the saturation of the textures would be an improvement.

I really don't like Raichu's model even though it's my favorite pokemon. I like the way it looked in the Stadium games more. Maybe because it's standing up straight instead of looking hunched over. I like its Stadium animations more, too. Seemed like it had personality.

Are you serious? It just looks like some fat hamster...thing in Stadium. You even posted a particularly bad screenshot. The newer model is not only much more visually appealing but it's closer to the original artwork than the hideous mess of his Stadium appearance. Even if Stadium had some great models for the time (some of which hold up better than their modern counterparts), Raichu was definitely not one of them.

I mean fuck if you prefer his Stadium design you might as well just say you don't like Raichu's design in general.
