The more I look at its design the more I start to like it.

I really like the unique shapes they gave it.

i think my fave is Emboar, bw was the first time i'd played pokemon since gen 2, and i was told to pick the fire type by my ex because there was a lack of fire types in the game. At first i thought it was so ugly, but somewhere along the journey it became my favourite starter/pokemon ever

This has basically become a waterbros thread.
Blastoise has a lot of nostalgia to me and just sticks as a very reliable mon. Bulky enough to sustain a fair amount but without sacrificing too much offensive power.
The Mega was slightly disappointing in design but especially in its animations.
They redeemed themselves with Mega Sceptile.
I just hope Sinnoh Remakes give us a badass Torterra mega

I've heard that the anime variant is stock humor garbage, but this thing and its evolution actually seem like a decent monster concept, whereas the other two are just fox and frog.

Plus I find it cute.
And I'm aware it's awful taste, so you don't have to bitch my ear up about it. Unredeemable and all that crap.

Decidueye is close, but Samurott will always be the starter that would have a special place in my heart. Oshawott's final form was the first starter that made me feel that I was using a strong and reliable pokemon in my team. Starters are normally strong and reliable when you use them, but Samurott gave me that vibe by just looking at it's design alone. If it wasn't a starter, I would assume that I was using a ledgendary instead.

My favorite starter is Primarina too. Previously, it was Empoleon, and before that, Charizard. But I really like Swampert's 3D model
All of it is based on looks though, but I've been using Primarina on my Battle Tree team and she's really good

I like fire-types, cat pokemon, and tigers. Having one as a starter is basically my dream pokemon.

The fact it's bulky with good coverage makes me happy and I can't wait for future move tutors and its HA to raise its usefulness even more.

Some give it flak for proportions or merely being bipedal but I think a lot of art does it justice.

Love decidueye for its awesome design. Had always liked archery and grass type. When the factors aligned, it was a dream come true. Using the wings as a bow and the vine as a bow string was a smart and refreshing design from pokemon. Plus rowlet is really adorable. It would be way better if its stat spread is like how everyone had expected it to be.

Chesnaught, sceptile, Venusaur, Blaziken, Typhlosion, greninja are my other favorites also
