Why the fuck did smogon ban Blaziken instead of Blaziken + Speed Boost? They proved they can make complex bans by banning Drizzle + Swift Swim, so why the fuck they completely banned Blaziken? I can't even use a regular one with Blaze.

Because drizzle + swift swim is not a complex ban. A complex ban would be banning a specific ability on a specific pokemon. You either ban the ability for all pokemon or the pokemon, or you would have to tier every pokemon with every possible ability combination extra, resulting in total chaos.

Silver has one more pokemon.
This is of course ignoring hypothetical buffs.

Gladion is a much better character than Silver, they're both lumped together as edgy runaways but Gladion was never very edgy outside of appearance and his hand thing. He was just stressed out and had no patience for all smiles people like Hau. He eventually learns to chill the fuck out and is a fully fleshed out character by the end of the game.

With Silver, you could replace all his ingame speech with Linkin Parks lyrics and it still wouldn't match up to the "GRR I HATE WEAK POKEMON" edge he exudes 24/7. Gladion's home life was also likely way worse than Silver's daddy issues.

Pokemon is, at its heart, a shonen story that plays by shonen rules. Characters that do the best in a shonen story share a few things.
1) They can take beating after beating without giving up.
2) They fight to protect friends and family,
Gladion starts with all those traits that make him a good trainer, but they're slowly illuminated by the story. SIlver doesn't really hide anything and only starts with determination and grows to get the others by the end of the post game
3) They have a certain view of how the world should be fair though it can sometimes be hidden under a rough exterior.

When we meet Gladion he has all these traits fully formed but hidden from us. Slowly the layers are torn away and we see his true self (training Type:Null even though no one thinks it can be done, trying to save Lillie and Nebby, sees the truth in the Aether Foundation and doesn't just buy into the life he was raised in). This makes a good story because it happens slowly. It makes a bad story because he doesn't change.

When we meet Silver he only has one trait (determination to be a trainer). Given enough beat downs, he sees that friendship matters and changes how he trains and why he trains. Similarly, you can see the change in the sense of justice (stealing a pokemon early on to fighting team rocket later). This is good story telling because it happens slowly. It makes for a bad story because his emotions are primarily worn on his sleeve.

If narrative doesn't play at all, Gladion's final team probably wins based on Silvally, though it depends on which form and when Magneton dies.

Also, if narrative does matter it depends on who needs to learn what. Until Silver learns about the power of love, he loses every damn time. After word, Silver wins because he's the underdog and Gladion's Silvally gets to become a jobber.

Complex bans are banning certain things only on certain Pokemon mega stones aside. Drizzle + swift swim ban isn't Pokemon specific.

Complex bans are a no go because they don't want to turn their ruleset into an even bigger cluster fuck of people asking for shit like using Mewtwo in OU as long as it's a physical set with no mega stone.

Someone who either didn't play HGSS, doesn't pay attention to story, or didn't play any iteration of gen 2 at all.

Both are similar in different ways except gladions character already starts out kind of developed (he doesn't like depending on others). Silver is a more interestingly built character in terms of development, and his final battle has a lot of impact on you if you paid attention to any of the subtle hints, kind of like Gladions evolution of Null but way better.
