I was slightly disappointed but I did like that her team was all Totem Boosted. Thinking back on it, what got probably had more potential to be challenging. Nihilusamine would most likely still be a Rock/Poison type and even if it worked like a totem battle she could only summon other Nihilego, so you could just Waterfall, Psyshock, or Earthquake through the entire fight.
Although because of Beast Boost the fight could get more difficult the more your Pokemon faint, it's still a team consisting of only 2 types as opposed to 6.

Maybe not impossible, but highly improbable, given that her prolonged exposure to it caused her to enter a comatose as soon as she disconnected from it, meaning that it's toxins are more dangerous to humans than they would seem. Not sure how long of an exposure you would need before your brain can no longer function without the toxins, however. I lost to Lusamine during that fight and was disappointed that it wasn't a battle that you HAD to win.

I hadn't saved in hours by that point so I had to go along with it and let the loss sit.

It made for a good comeback moment in Ultra Space being able to defeat her though.

If you go with the theory that she was injected before the game my guess is the order of Events would go like this:

>Lusamine finds Mohn's Research notes and Cosmog
>She starts researching the Ultra-wormholes and is able to create one with Cosmog similiar to the one when you encounter Nihilego on Aether paradise.
>Nihilego Comes through and Lusamine gets contaminated with the poison, but like in the initial Encounter it doesn't stick around for Long and disappears shortly after

This would be true if not for the fact that having only one scene of her being somewhat motherly to Lillie does absolutely little to balance out the fact that she put her children through years of abuse, froze Pokemon for reasons that amount to nothing more than personal vanity, and torturing Cosmog simply so that she can bring the Ultra Beasts to Alola with clearly little care for the consequences; all the while having the gall to act as if she did nothing wrong.

The worst part of all this is that the game expects us to see her as a sympathetic or tragic character because of backstory that is only revealed in the post game. If she truly did go deeper down the rabbit hole just to find her husband, why didn't the game give any hint to it within the main game? If she truly cared about Lillie and Gladion, why didn't she show any sign of hesitation in disowning them both or trying to kill Lillie in Ultra Space? If Nihilego's neurotoxin causes the host to act upon their deepest desires, why weren't her husband and children included within the equation?

The only explanation I can think of that doesn't resort to saying that Game Freak are crummy writers is that she never truly cared for her family or her organisation's aims and were simply using them for her own gain. If so, then that is a waste of backstory, considering that she pretty much reaches Ghetsis's level of monstrosity, and they never had to explain why he does what he does.

Am I the only one who thinks maybe she DOES know about Mohn, and maybe went extra crazy upon realizing his amnesia or whatever? Too many NPCs treat him like common knowledge not to. I think it because he wouldn't be the first family member she just gave up on after feeling "abandoned" by him. She absolutely could have made Guzma hand over Gladion had she really wanted him back.

To be honest, I would argue that the tragic backstory is only tragic to the people who were previously close to her. By that point in time, most players would have already formed an opinion on her, so the Gladion telling us why she fell to pieces comes across as an excuse a kid would make for their parent's bad behavior--basically to show that he has the empathy for his mother that she did not possess for him.
