Well scyther was og so that goes without saying. Snimon was in digimon adventure but that was after. Still they are both based on mantises so it's not that surprising they are similar.

Doberman is for sure from Tamers which was after gen 2... But they're both just dogs after all. Still it's sad that Doberman sacrifices itself for the Tamers.

Playing some NFE, I see. That's all fun and good, but you should join the top dogs. We've got a very healthy meta, I assure you. I'm personally loving my offense team, RustTyranomon picks 'em off easy as can be. Omnimon Zwart is pretty overpowered if you can set up a Dragon Dance, he tears through enemies with his Dragon/Steel-typing. GigaSeadramon is pretty fun as well, he's my best best against physical walls. The others are great for clean up, and TigerVespamon can even Swords Dance if necessary, but usually I run LO 4 attacks.

To my knowledge none of them are very recent, they've all been around for a couple years.
In order (left to right, from top to bottom): TigerVespamon (probably my favorite ever), GigaSeadramon, RustTyranomon, HiAndromon, Apollomon, Omnimon Zwart.
It is not bad at all, they just recently started selling games in the U.S. again. Cyber Sleuth is 100% worth picking up for the PS4, and there's a new game coming out either January or February that's promising.
It depends on when you last watched, honestly. Tamers was one of the best seasons, and Digimon Adventure Tri. has been great so far. It's a bit slow at first, but the most recent "episode" really picked up. The "episodes" are released in episodic movies, I think 3/6 have come out so far. About 2 hours each, sequel to Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 2. Would highly recommend.

That's out already? I knew it was happening, but didn't know it had already started airing. Will definitely look into that.
I watched the original run, and then they came back to the real world, and then went back and defeated the dark masters or whatever the fuck they were called. And then i watched a bit of the next series with the Tai knock off that still featured TK + Kari and they had egg-thing evolutions cause they could evolve regularly for some reason or something?
And then i vaguely remember something about fusions... but that's all i know / remember- obviously i fell off that bandwagon a long time ago.
Knowing that, and knowing i'm going to look into Tri- are there any good older games (ideally something i could play on an emulator) or any specific show / season to look in on?

Fusions was probably Digimon Fusion or Frontier. Fusion had Digimon fusing with each other, Frontier had Digimon and Humans fusing together. I thought both were pretty meh, but Tamers was probably the darkest the series has gotten yet, though Tri. is certianly looking to usurp that.
Ideal games would definitely be Digimon World (Story in Jap.): DS and Digimon World/Story: Dawn/Dusk. Both were great games, compelling story, and I still play through them to this day. There's a lot of branching digivolution you can do, with a very wide array of Digimon to use. I believe both have emulations available.
