I'm not big on most gen 1 designs, but Sandslash is a real standout.

It's difficult to call any design absolutely perfect, but Cubone just blows everything out in every field. It looks cute, tough and that look of determination in its eyes is something fierce. Just look at that stance it takes, ready to clobber you with the remains of its deceased mother.

The Nido's evolutionary line would always be the most imaginative designs from that gen to me. After all, they were the precursors of gender differences and gender based counterparts (like Hoenn's fireflies, Latis, etc.)

And before you guys attack me, here's my counter: You may not like humanoid dssigns, but along with objectmons, they highlighted the immersion in a MONSTER world. Machamp is good for a humanoid design and conveys the concept/type well.
