Why is one regional bug so popular? And why is it entirely justified?

Because Gen 5 has Regional Bugs that didn't have Shitty stats and weren't just butterflies and moths

Because it's a unique and good design that's still relatable to the real life bug it's based off of.

This is opposed to "literally my mom's butterly." Leavanny also has some popularity due to this but is overshadowed by Scolipede. Wormadam is also unique but it's absolute garbage competitively and in-game, so people don't like it that much.

I didn't even realize Scolipede/Leavanny are Gen 5's "regional bug"s until now. They're just good Pokémon. They shouldn't force themselves to make garbage butterflies every game, just make good pokémon that happen to have a Bug typing.

Technically Wormadam is also a Butterfly/Moth Pokémon, albeit one that stays as a caterpillar. Same with Pineco and Forretress.
