Yea I was chaining for over three days, but after the secrets of how it all works were revealed I ended that run and started a new one (I now do sessions of 260 each, Haveing a stopper now makes this more enjoyable and less claustrophobic.) and had done two after my initial three day session and low and behold my second 260 session netted me it at the like 63-66 mark.

I was in the middle of EV grinding when the game threw a Shiny Machoke at me.

Not random. The same spot always bubbles when you re-enter the area. If there's a "Fishing (bubbling spots)" section in that location on Serebii, that place has a bubbling spot somewhere. Just move slowly up to it and save.

I didn't really have a setup, I just used drill peck + a lot of leppa berries. I just needed something to 1 shot the sandygast and not have their accuracy reduced from Sand Attack.

Basically bring a lot of leppa berries + a high level pokemon with keen eye (unless you enjoy missing every shot) and another pokemon with a move that won't 1 shot it.
Sandygast is a very very hard pokemon to chain for because even if you do what I suggest it can still use mega drain to reduce the chance of it calling for help

What's the best way to SOS chain something like Phantump? I'm using a Smeargle with Dragon Rage, and the fuckers keep restoring their HP with Ingrain, and possibly Leech Seed if I'm extra lucky. That makes them stop giving a fuck about the adrenaline ball I tossed at them. I spent about two and half hours just looking for the HA and it was just horrible.

Is there a way to self-inflict Paralysis on your own Pokemon?

I'm trying to hunt for a Shiny Salandit, female. I am using Sylveon right now, but he keeps getting poisoned by the Salandit's Smog attack. I have Misty Terrain but it only works for 50 turns (10pp, 5 turns each). AFter that I keep getting poisoned. SOmetimes I let my Sylveon get burned instead because it doesn't hurt it as much.

Last shiny I got was a Magby from SOS chaining, and I got the shiny charm about four days ago.

Tauros charge makes eggs hatch very quickly, to the point where I can hatch a single egg in less than 90 seconds. I remember it being a lot longer in Gen 6, at least a few minutes.

Masuda Method and Shiny Charm for a shiny Sandygast. Currently 300 eggs in with no luck.

Honestly, I think Amnesia would be worth it - it's SpD is lower than it's massive Def stat, so why not? Destiny Bond is pretty useless, Stockpile ups it's Def and SpD. So I'd go for those two, just so the choice is always there.

While the sos system can't net me multiple shinies at once like chaining did in past generations if the chain lasted long enough, it can at least guarantee me at least one shiny if enough time is wasted and a good stock of leppa berries are on hand. Kek, maybe. I'm just fussy about my Pokemon. I never liked chaining for them in gen 5 or hunting in the safaris for them in gen 6 - they always had to be bred, for dat balltism/egg move/nature/IVs. Don't feel too bad about SOS chaining in gen 7 though, GF made it so that the higher the chain, the better the IVs. That was a positive change.

Got these 2 during the week, crippling natures and horrible ivs.

Currently 1,200 into the chain for a shiny dewpider and im starting to lose hope.
