True. Ash's Charizard no sold a Dragon Rush from Iris's Dragonite overpowered him with Slash. If he used Dragon Claw, he would have killed that Dragonite.

If Ash's Zard does return, he should get a mega. Megas are prominent in the post game as nearly every named trainer has one, so Ash should be able to get his own. Even random scrub trainers in the battle tree have megas. He finally has the means to do it with his Z-Ring. Not to mention that Mega Glalie was in the early SM anime promotion.

Then there's Ash referencing his old pokemon in SM. He even mentioned the many Tauros he's caught to Lillie. XY was isolated, and he never brought up his old mons. Even Oak and Delila didn't appear until the very end of XYZ. Despite how shit it was, even BW wasn't as isolated from the rest of the series as XY and XYZ. Since SM isn't afraid to bring up past events, that makes it likely for Ash's old mons to return.

Yeah, that's why I commended the strategy. Using Counter + Stash isn't something that normally comes to mind. There's no way it could've been predicted.
The opponent just wanted to survive a hit. He didn't predict the Counter, but he predicted something that would end the battle in one shot. The opponent outsmarted Zardfag. It was the failure to predict a Stash that lead to Zardfags downfall.

In the end, though, he lost. That's it. No more discussion needed. Every Pokemon has strengths and weakness', and faster Pokemon and Rock-types are both Zard's weakness'. If it was one or the other, Zard might've had a chance. But the combination of both is something that will always overpower Zard.

Thank you for evaluating my Replay.

The Focus Sash was to check against a Mega-Y Solar Beam, Hidden Power, or any Fighting moves it can learn.

I will give my praise for my opponents unique strategy to use Counter. It was unexpected and very surprising to see let alone expect.

Don't get me wrong, Charizard is one of my favorite Kanto Pokémons. What I don't like is the overhype it is given. My point was to show that even a frail Rock Type can give a Charizard a hard time, unless it's a Mega-X.
