Anti-Meta mon, currently. Counters 3/4ths of the Tapus, counters the relevant UB's, minus Nihilego, and Ghost/Fire is both a good offensive and defensive typing. Not to mention it basically gets the equlivant of base 147 attack when uninvested so it can pump its stats into its defenses, like how Talonflame used to pump its EVs into defenses because Gale Wings bypassed its speed for the most part.

But once the Meta starts stabilizing itself it will most likely drop down to UU.

BST doesn't necessarily mean much on its own. Greninja got banned to Ubers, Chesnaught stayed in UU. Delphox, with a BST 4 points higher than them, sat in RU.

Breloom has been OU since Gen 4 despite 460 BST and a terrible defensive typing. BST is just one piece of the puzzle (or else Kyurem-B wouldn't have been stuck in OU)

OU is defined by usage rates, and A-wak clobbers most of the common stuff because of 3 immunities, a bunch of good resists, Thick Club and a neat STAB combo

Electric Immunity is vital for checking Xurkitree, Tapu Koko, and safe switchins to various Electric attacks. It also has an absurd Attack stat that it can reach without any real EV investment so it can reliably boost its defenses and still have threatening damage/wallbreaking potential.

Uninvested Marowak has 392 Attack if holding a Thick Club. Uninvested Chandelure has 326, but can still hold an item and is faster.

chandelure speed is irrelevant because it dies to priority attacks like, A-Marowak is bulky enough to survive them and having lightningrod makes him useful just by being switched in.

It's helped by the fact that there are no Knock Off users around, and that it's immune to Burn.
I had a normal Marowak in Gen VI but it was of little use because, usually, its bone got knocked off or it was burned after maybe one turn.
