Alola is truly the greatest generation for shinies. The game just fucking throws them at you, I've captured more shinies this week on Sun than in every other pokemon game I've played.

And I have been playing since silver. It's beautiful, really.

Don't you feel like that makes them a little less special though? I mean I personally have only found one in Moon so far, and 3 total in my entire pokemon playing experience, but I feel that if shinies become so easy to find, the excitement of acquiring one will quickly degrade.

A hacked shiny wouldn't feel special to me either. Doesn't really count. Unless I catch it myself, I don't really care about it.

Which is why I never get that excited when I receive a shiny through Wonder Trade. It's sort of like taking a big gold trophy from someone. Sure, you have the trophy, but without the experiences it really means nothing.

I've only ever encountered one anon. It was a Goldeen in HG while I was EV training my Sandslash. I had to check the colour online because I wasn't even sure it was shiny.

In a way, beyond the alt colors, the deal of shinies is that they are rare finds. Injecting them misses the entire point of it. I understand doing so for great looking shinies, however.

Funny enough, I haven even seen one yet, and I have about 85 hours in the game. Meanwhile in Kalos, at that point I've already gotten 3 of them.

I'm also 4 Pokemon away from completing the Alola Dex, and I've done quite a lot of breeding with a Foriegn Ditto such as breeding 3 boxes worth of Dhelmise and a half a box of each of the obtainable pseudo legends.

I'm hatching Mimikyus because I love the black color on it.

I've seen two natural shinys in my lifetime, a shiny Zubat and a shiny Chingling. Both are lost to time.

What's the chance of getting a shiny on the pelago and actually getting ot to stay? I feel like this was the most special shiny I've gotten out of all the other 2 that I've managed to get.

My only ever random encounter shiny was this little guy in X while looking for trees to shake berries off of in battles. After evolving him I sent him to AS and he is waiting to join the new gang in Moon

i only get shiny rowlet via breeding, in oras at this point i get shiny ralts, shiny nincada, 2 shiny feebas and lot more
