Might not be too tough to set up with a Toxapex or drizzle Pelipper to soften/set up. Basic greninja is pretty fast and does decent damage with specs, scald/surf are also good options instead of pump. BB empowered water shuriken gets 20 bp and always hits 3 times so it could be an option.

Do not go pump in the tree. Surf or bust. BB boosted shuriken is still kind of weak compared to Surf and it'll be missed in some instances if its your only water coverage. Every Pokemon should be able to function on their own in the tree, I believe, unless you're going for some Entrainment strategy the AI can't fight. You're better off pairing Grenny with other offensive mons that synergize well with each other.
