They dont shove down your throat what each individual building is
If you ask some random person on the street to find a place where your pokemon would heal, I would bet their first instinct isnt the pokemon center but any random amount of buildings
HMs for a majority sucked, and Sun and Moon did good by making them both TM's and non essential
It IS kind of annoying that most of your players motivation is through other characters. But then again, you had no motivation to go after Giovanni except that they existed and were doing bad stuff like steal pokemon. They were simply on the way. Any motivation you put on that can be also done in S/M, so by extension, you have more motivation in S/M because you have friends who got scorn. Thinking about that, Team Rocket didnt really personally blight you any more than Skull did, and hell, Skull did kidnap Lillie, whos supposed to be your friend. Also Po Town was better than Sliph Co or the Game Corner, but it didnt have any fun gimmicks like Teleporting or Sliding panels so Po Town loses some points

Difficulty wise ? Eh. The EXP share IS turned on for you automatically, and its an option. And if you turn it on, you basically can run through the game with a balanced team. Some Totems are hard, only because of stat gains. And Elite Four is decently challenging, only again because of overleveling.

Gen 1 HAD no post game. S/M has some. Not compared to B/W, but some.

Yeah nah, triumphing over pokemon's biggest challenge and being rewarded with battles from old series veterans is pretty damn great.

Sun/Moon story was better than gen 1's story.
The comic doesn't even touch the fact you get to interact with characters, getting to know them before doing their trials while in gen 1 you had no introduction or any sort of interaction with gym leaders.

It catches you off-guard. It's very fast and hits pretty hard and Hau just shows up with one that already knows Thunderbolt and Psychic so if you haven't been playing with the exp share on it'll be higher leveled than you as well as hitting very fucking hard for where you are in the game.

The PWT shits all over the Battle Tree. The tree is literally the Battle Maison with a Gen 7 coat of paint and old Trainers in it to bait people into thinking it's "fun and challenging postgame." The PWT had way more old series veterans and was actually very fun and not a long, time consuming, stressful game of "Survive RNG Satan for 50 Battles straight." I agree with you with all the other points but let's be honest here. It was long as fuck to farm BP in the PWT. The highest number of BP in singles you can get is 9 for 3 successful battles (and it's only against Champions). With a good streak in Battle Tree / Battle Maison you can get way more.

Also you only get 9 BP if none of your Pokemon fainted during those 3 battles. Victory against 3 Champions can give you as low as 3 BP. If you lose once, you get NOTHING.
No matter how you view it, the Battle Tree is way more rewarding.

This is your problem. Getting a good streak is stressful as shit and not really fun after seeing the same bland challenge be a star on your Trainer Card 4 gens straight. And don't argue about how it's not hard or you just gotta get gud. The RNG doesn't even cut you slack when you prepare your team because 99% of encouners will just become strict counters for your team, coupled with the ultimate luck based BS thrown at you. I would much rather fight 3 Champions for 3-9 BP and listen to some nice battle music than the usual Battle Shit Facility every gen that makes you wonder every time, "Will this be the battle that all my moves finally just drop to 10% accuracy?"
