It makes me wonder if they really meant 100 million or if it was supposed to be 10 but someone added an extra zero by accident which went unnoticed.
100 million in two weeks while eggs don't count and the event started two weeks after release meaning a lot of people had already finished the Dex was too retardedly ambitious.

It's possible gamefreak just vastly overestimated player's intelligence, which is odd, considering the rest of the game suggests the opposite.

I guess the other piece of the story is that most players do not sign up for the mission straight away; probably until post game where most of the pokemon is (legitimately) obtained through breeding anyway, if they sign up at all.

If it weren't for /vp/, I wouldn't know how to access this event at all. Assumed the pc in the plaza was a regular pc.
Even then the server wouldn't let me sign up for the stupid ID thing, so I still don't have game sync functioning.
I'm pretty sure the only people in this event are those that already had an account they used for a previous gen.
