>ultra ball is hyper ball
>beast ball is ultra ball
does that mean gen 8's hyper ball is beast ball?
>>30667170
Not Gamefreak's fault mid-90's game translation in America was generally more flexible than it needed to be.
See: Mr. Mime, Splash, etc.
It pains me that we will never get a full remake/cleanup of Pokemon that reorders the dex or renames stupid items/moves/abilities or any other sort of 'fix' like that.

no Anon I think it is called in every non-english language hyperball.

It's also why Blastoise is the "Shellfish Pokémon". The English translation's super fucked. It took them how long to correct 'Faint Attack' to 'Feint Attack'?
And how long will it take before 'Feint' is going to be renamed because now it's even more confusing?
>>30667744
in spanish it is also called ultra ball, but the spanish translation team is pure bullshit
>>30667854
that one messed with my head. I started learning english back when Gold/Silver came out, and I had no idea why "faint" was there nor why it couldn't miss. then they changed it to "feint" and I went years thinking "faint" was spelled "feint".

Whaat? How dare you say that about my "A Bocajarro" (Close Combat iirc), you little shit?! /s
they should have retranslated everything from scratch starting in gens 3, 4, 5, or 6 but it's too late now
