>Satoshi and the other students at the Pokémon School receive a homework assignment from Principal Okido. The assignment is to raise a Pokémon egg and observe it during the process. Satoshi's classmate Lilie is set to watch over the egg at her house at night, and Satoshi comes along to keep her company. Lilie's house is a huge mansion that also has a battlefield, which makes Satoshi really excited. This leads to him deciding to battle her butler.

SM9 - The Totem Pokémon is Dekagoos! (Jan 5th)
>Ratta and Koratta are laying waste to the island's fields. In response, Satoshi goes to meet with Island King Hala, an influential man on the island, as well as a key person in the "Island Pilgrimage" he is challenging. Satoshi immediately tells Hala he will be attempting the Island Pilgrimage, but Hala tells him he needs to be tested to make sure he is qualified for the pilgrimage first.

I can see Drampa since it might make sense considering it's protective of kids and it might become protective of Ash, but I can also see an episode where it just sticks around the school and does taht same role as either a professor pokemon or just a wild pokemon that hangs out.

Grubbin is shown being captured in the opening, it can't get more obvious than that. Rockruff is getting a lot of focus with Ash and there is the brown egg in Alola Oak office.

Rowlet will just take the place of the generic bird Pokemon this series

Litten will be Ash's ace and will get the majority of the development. Last couple of series Ash's ace have all been bipedal, fast mons (like Incineroar will become) as they fit Ash's battle-style perfectly. Tomioka is even writing SM7.
