If you use it the second you purchase it you get a Bottle Cap 100% of the times. I think there's a way to get guaranteed gold caps too but I don't know how many minutes you have to wait.

I'm not sure it has exclusives other than some clothes colors, but you can farm bottlecaps and raise levels easily. Participating in missions helps you earn coins. I think you are able to start that at level 8
