as written it is currently similar to the moves psyshock, psystrike, and secret sword all of which "do physical damage"

all three of those moves are special attacks that use the users special attack stat when calculating power but use the opponents defense stat to calculate damage.

he's designed to be useful in situations where you want to switch in a check but can't without it taking too much damage, so you switch Golisopod in to take the damage then get a free switch out. Plus his signature move first impression pretty much gives away the fact that he's a revenge killer/hit and run type pokemon not meant to be out for long.

changing emergency exit completely misses the point. If you want a pure attacker that happens to be bug/water you might as well just use araquanid.

If it ejects at 25% and Stealth Rocks are up, Golisopod is KO'd by rocks and does nothing when you switch in later.

Take one but not both. STAB priority at 132 base damage is enough to threaten a lot of toptier threats. Also having good defenses AND fur coat is overkill

They way i use him i wouldn't want his ability changing just more moves to use like elemental punches.
I switch him into attack and pivot out for free, it's great. you can also bring him in to kill thing or use first impression then pivot out.

he has worse stats than conkeldurr and no recovery. there SHOULD be more threats to lando, although with intimidate it's not even a KO after rocks. and since when is 97/77/67 "good?" it's decent at best. plus his type is abysmal defensively.
