Since every non-defensive stat about Toxapex is shit, effectively preventing it from taking up any role other than a slow and relatively predictable stallwall, exactly how good IS it, based on experimentation [Battle Tree, Wifi, etc.]?
Can team combos be set up with it, i.e. Salazzle's Corrosion with Toxapex' Merciless+Venoshock?

Haze saves it from being set up fodder and its typing combined with two forms of good recovery just simply makes it a good wall for dealing chip damage. Merciless is a shitty gimmick ability.

It survives pretty much anything poisons almost anything recovers health easily and lays toxic spikes. Its damage stats suck but Scald is so OP that even if it does 1/5 of a Pokemons health you might get a burn and switch out to a better match-up recovering health and letting a much weaker burned Pokemon get shit on. Its great

Everything gets beat by something in Pokemon. Toxapex can take on more things than most and physical attacks also have to worry about BB poisoning them as much as they have to worry about a complete faggot lucksack burn from scald. Thats more than a lot of Pokemon can do and why its one of the best Pokemon in Gen 7
