Its design is simple, yet imposing. It's movie appearances gave it a unique sound you can tie to it. It's gen 3 sprite was fuckawful, but it got hands down one of the sexiest sprites in gen4. While powercreep has forced every other uber down, base Fug is every bit as formidable as it always was, as one of the strongest checks to P-don, and able to freely run coverage moves that other 'mons would kill for.
It is actually big enough to be intimidating, unlike the 11 foot tall manlet that is Groudon.

It has gotten a large amount of spinoff support, being the final boss of Mystery Dungeon, Nobunaga's Ace in conquest, and even showing up in fucking smash brothers. It is regularly an OP as shit card.
It roflstomps the E4 in Emerald if you go catch it.
It doubles as an incredible HM slave.
The Assault Vest was literally made for it.
