Komala is a great spinner, and because it doesn't get status it can stop tricky spikes and toxapex.

this team is just in case there is a sequel to sun and moon (but still made it just in case it doesn't happen) but I'm still unsure if I want to use palosand or pyukumuku as my sixth member of my team
on one hand I like how pyukumuku works but I feel it will fall behind the team sooner or later, on the other palosand is a cool pokemon in concept for me but ground/ghost types don't connect well with me for some reason even if ground is one of my favorite types

Don't. Takes way too long to get to being a Crabominable and by that point it's useless against 3 E4 members. It is also slow as balls. Give Lycanroc SD, Stone Edge, and Brick Break and watch things fall

This was the crew that I used for my first playthrough of Moon. I loved the shit out of almost all the new pokemon in this game, so I decided to mostly focus on type and role diversity. Never used a mismagius and always liked its design, so decided to role with it after catching a misdreavus.
>>
>>30636553

>>
>>30636727
>Loved my them
>but hacks the fuck out of them

Sell your game
>>
>>30636669
>>30636735
To be completely fair, most dittos that are 6IV are usually hacked. And to berate someone for their own attachment to something is idiotic, despite it's origin.

I get the sentiment about legit vanilla pokemon, but the idea of breeding pokemon to be "perfect" in potential for endless battling isn't exactly any different than a minute or two long injection.
>>
>>30636904
A breeded pokemon (even if the ditto is hacked) is still more legit than something completely or partly hacked.

At least the breeded thing is 100% your effort.
>>
>>30636926
>breeded

Sorry I can't english tonight, it's 3:37am here
>>
>>30636926
I'd be less sympathetic if breeding wasn't the most tedius fuck you ever. To this day my only conclusion is that they made it to punish autistic people that cannot help but sperg out for perfect rng.
>>
>>30636973
Every new gen I have a fantasy where shiny eggs will be a different color, will appear 500x more often, EVs can be influenced before hatching and IVs are deleted altogether. Fuck the breeder elites. Just play the goddamn game.
>>
>>30637256
Honestly I never understood why they didn't just let you influence IV/EV with berries. It's a series aimed at kids, and no kid is ever going to do breeding outside of trying it once or twice for the novelty before realizing it's the most unfun shit ever.
>>
Fuck, didn't think my post would derail the thread. Sorry guys.

All I will say is I just wanted my in game team, the pokemon I used thoughout the game (other then xurk obviously), to be viable. I didn't want new pokemon, I wanted them. Yeah I know their pixels and lines of code but they're my pixels and lines of code

Decidueye was great, lovely all rounder with nice coverage. Dartrix was such a jobber though, Razor leaf is weak as fuck and he died to every rock type out there. Snorlax was great for catching Pokémon and stalling, like Muk. Muk was there for Toxic stall and STAB Crunch. Golisopod was good revenge killer and instant killer of anything weak to bug. Lycanroc has absurd coverage and Raichu swept anything I put it against. Great team, love it to bits.

>Aerodactyl w/ Pressure
>Omastar w/ Weak Armor

Took a crack at making a rock team because rock is my favourite type. Gigalith for Sandstorm, Lycanroc for fast sweeping, Omastar for special sweeping, Aerodactyl to fight off grass and to help if Lycanroc dies, Bastiodon is my physical wall (I know, shit typing, fuck off), and Cradily is my anti-Water and special wall.

This the team I used to defeat the Elite Four.

Krookodile was the MVP for sure. Good bulk, hits incredibly hard with a STAB Earthquake, and Crunch gave it some much-needed type coverage.

Mimikyu was a close second. Its ability was fantastic allowing it to get a free switch-in or set up a Swords Dance. Its typing was also great giving it dual STABs in the form of Play Rough and Shadow Claw with Shadow Sneak to out-speed faster threats.

Toucannon was great as well. It had excellent type coverage in the form of a Skill-Link-boosted Bullet Seed and Rock Blast. Its attack stat was nothing to scoff at either.

Araquanid was also great. Its ability makes a STAB Liquidation hit like a truck not to mention that it can tank special attacks for days and recover its health back with a STAB Leech Life.

Ribombee was underwhelming. Its special attack was not quite good enough and would often miss out on crucial KOs. Setting up almost never worked with it because Ribombee would often get one-shot due to its paper-thin defenses.

Golisopod didn't impress me either. While its access to priority and high attack stat were great, Golisopod's ability always fucked me over when I had a good matchup.

>Golisopod

So fucking true, that ability is horrendous. Every time I tried to bring him out, he'd rack up enough damage to suddenly decide he's not going to pull his own weight and fucks off.

If the ability activated at 25% it could be manageable, but 50% is fucking ridiculous.

For Muk, slap an Assault Vest on it a replace Curse with Pursuit

For Toxapex, this set's been giving me some great mileage
Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Toxic
- Recover
- Haze

For Scolipede I'd recommend replacing Poison Point with Speed Boost if you can, and if not, putting EQ in that last slot

Haunter could be fine, but I'd still go with Gengar for pure stats and better speed, with a similar set. Just replace Shadow Ball with Sludge Bomb

Crobat should have Black Sludge. You can run taunt if you want, but it's your choice

As for Salazzle, I'd recommend either Nasty Plot plus Life Orb (Replacing Protect).
>>
>>30649207
Speed Boost isn't available in Sun and Moon. Island Scan Pokemon don't do SOS Battles. So it's either Poison Point or Swarm. EQ though, eh? That's probably a really good idea.

I like the idea of putting an AssVest on Muk though.

That Toxapex set looks deliciously evil. I like it.

Oh that's right, Crobat gets Taunt.
Mostly I need the Defog on Crobat because my team has a real problem with Spikes and SR and I need some way to neutralize that. And I don't want to train a Tentacruel.

I initially had Nasty Plot on it, but it dies so quickly. But if you think a LO would be better, I'll give it a shot.

Ah, okay.
>I initially had Nasty Plot on it, but it dies so quickly. But if you think a LO would be better, I'll give it a shot.
That is true, but if you switch it in on something that it obviously threatens out, getting up a free nasty plot can get things rolling really fast. And since it does die quickly, getting off as much damage as possible is necessary, so a LO is ideal

Tsareena really exceeded expectations, but only after finally evolving, and even with the disappointment of Leaf Guard. >50 consecutive BT wins for an Ability Capsule
Salazzle's also trickier to use than expected, juuust frail enough to make Toxic setup a bit of a gamble.

Post-E4 team is muchly theoretical atm, ironically has more Types yet more Type overlap; as you might guess, its approach to weaknesses is brutishness.
>>
>>30653202
What moves did you have for Tsareena? I'm interested in using it for my team Pre-Elite Four, but I'm also thinking about Shiinotic because it has Moonblast and Spore.

First, Tsareena does not particularly benefit from Leaf Guard as a mono-Grass type with no reason being out in front of Poison-types and no speed boost in Sun (she's middling for S/M, but a bit slow overall). Strictly speaking, instances where Queenly Majesty /would/ have been useful during story mode specifically barely ever came up, but in general it's just a better Ability; dunno about Sweet Veil. However!, if you're running a Sun team, (I'd not suggest using Tsareena to set that up, she needs the room in her moveset beyond Sunny Day and the Item support beyond Heat Rock) as someone who never has, I guess I wouldn't see immediately why not with Leaf Guard. More importantly as a Grass-type w/o any draining moves in her movepool Sun would allow her to benefit from Synthesis. One last team synergy sidenote, like all of Alola she loves a Trick Room, if ironically less-so when up against other Alolamons due to her middling Speed, as mentioned.

Mine (MARJEENA, points to anyone who figures that one out) runs Leaf Storm/Rapid Spin/Trop Kick/Hi-Jump Kick @ Miracle Seed. Right away she probably needs a better Held Item but I've yet to really think it through, honestly, and Trop Kick isn't the strongest Grass move ever and doesn't hate the boost. TK and HJK are her bread and butter: TK is by no means /bad/, and HJK is always nice even w/o STAB and for coverage. Rapid Spin also barely saw use in-game b/c >story mode and became the team's move for love-tapping catches, but it IS Rapid Spin, and she can use it. Leaf Storm is there to compensate for TK re: STAB and b/c she can run it with impunity since her Sp.A is GARBAGE, so let the BP do all the work and give no fucks about penalty. LS is a move to make certain things BTFO or opportunistically OHKO, but her Sp.A can only take so many hits, so don't waste your LS uses.

(cont.)
>>
>>30654355
>>30653253
She is in all honesty a surprisingly springy sponge: she'll gladly face down anything that isn't a STAB and even some of those if they're not boosted. TK lowering opponents' Attack with each use really helps, here, especially with a "regular move's" PP (yes, I should have mentioned the Att. lowering in the previous post, I gotta learn how to multi-track trains of thought). But she's still just as fine in front of Sp. Attackers; she's basically my go-to 'mon on that team for handling Electric-types.

If you wanted to maximise her durability and utility, just give her dual Screens and Light Clay, and probably RS and Synthesis. U-Turn is an option on any of these sets if you'd like, offensive or utility, but I wouldn't personally sacrifice a STAB for it.

(cont.)
>>
>>30635377

Advice on using Tsareena ? She doesnt really counter any of the prominent water types in the meta, I like her a lot as a screen caster but that's pretty much all I manage to provide to a team with her

(And honestly by "wouldn't personally sacrifice a STAB for it" above I probably just mean Trop Kick.) And, she'll gladly face down anything that isn't *a super-effective hit, dunno why I mistyped that.

A couple final thoughts: I wasn't kidding when I implied trying to raise a Bounsweet/Steenee is a bitch, they die to everything and can do nothing back. Tsareena herself's gonna lag a bit at first, too, as she starts actually handling threats herself for proper training with level-up moves instead of just hiding behind EXP Share. Also, all wild Bounsweet are over-leveled, they evolve into Steenee at lvl. 18 and cannot be found lower than that level, so if you want more-total control than that, you're gonna wanna breed.

And RE: Shiinotic, they were my Grass-type on that team until I caught Bounsweet, and honestly the only reason I switched over is because I had already planned my E4 team and am just that stubborn. They are immensely fun to use, are actually better for being slower in re Speed, and Strength Sap is a wickedly cool move. Both are 'hindered' in that either does something "something else already does, maybe better," although I think that's a dumb argument but for extreme cases and particularly in-game; but, honestly, Shiinotic probably does have better potential team synergy overall than Tsareena does. Tsareena's kawaii as fugg in Poké Refresh, though, and has the higher BST and specifically Def. Your call!

>>
>>30655249
Same guy as >>30653202, my BS suggestion(s) is to use something else to handle the endless Water-types this gen. Yes, I realise that is a ridiculous thing to say in a discussion of a Grass 'mon, yet, here we are. Since you're using her for DS, what else is she running? Since it's specifically Water-types giving you a hassle, I might just suggest leaving a slot for LS and EV the MOTHERFUCK out of her Sp.A and pray she already has the Nature and IVs for it (and especially in the face of Scald). If your team involves Sun, Synthesis will help give her longevity over tanks; if your trouble is sweeping, definitely Trop Kick w/ Queenly Majesty as her Ability. Or, Toxic, b/c Toxic and Cancer.

(I'll also take this moment to mention after all that my Shiinotic is named TOADSTEAL, which is a name I am wickedly proud of.)

If Magnezone is what he used to be he's a great asset. Liligant was my least useful due to her lack of coverage, but her status moves are still great and with HA and petal dance she'd become unstoppable.
Hariyama is decent so no surprises he's still good
Ariados I never tried but I could've sworn he was NU for the longest time, maybe his strengths only shine in single player?

>tfw there are so many ghosts and fairies that I want to use that I can barely make a team without doubling up on at least one of those types
>and I'm planning out two more playthroughs with another one already completed
Completed run right here, the second run has Decidueye, Ribombee, A-Ninetales, A-Golem and Salazzle. Was originally going to be Decidueye, Ribombee, A-Ninetales, A-Golem, A-Marowak and A-Muk but it kind of fell apart because ghosts and fairies.

Third playthrough only has Primarina and A-Marowak locked in, but I kind of want to use Whimsicott (because it's basically an all new Pokemon compared to BW due to Fairy typing), but I don't want to double up on Fairy AGAIN.

Can anyone recommend me a 6th? I'm looking for a special attacker that doesn't have a rock weakness and would prefer alolamons.

I feel your pain anon, it really feels like the type distribution was skewed this gen and it's hard to make a team without overlapping

In game team, and I gotta saw Palossand, Kommo-O and A-Ninetails were incredibly underwhelming. Maybe it's because I didn't bother to SOS chain and breed A-Ninetails until post-game for it to get Moonblast and Snow Warning but it was hilariously weak despite it putting in decent work in the final trial (though it got BTFO by Flash Cannon and a fucking Scizor). It only learning Dazzling Gleam as its sole Fairy move is ridiculous

Palossand is just complete trash. Utter fucking garbage. Parse special attack so its best move Earth Power does fuck all. Ability is useless since most Water moves hit for SpDef so the Def gain does nothing, and barely any Sp.Def in the first place so it just straight up dies to literally ANY Water move half the time. Shoulda just went for a Mudsdale, but I am an autist for dual type mons

Kommo-O was also pretty underwhelming. Only Fighting move is Sky Uppercut which is an absolute joke and if you wanted a move with more power you'd have to go for Focus Miss and work off an objectively worse stat. Honestly would have used Tsareena instead of this thing is she was Grass/Fighting and I didn't have dual type autism. Shoulda just went for Bewear instead I suppose

Golisopod, Incineroar and Magnezone were the MVPs though. First impression hits like a truck. Incineroar has impressive bulk and ignores everything with Darkest Lariat, and Magnezone is just Magnezone, a beast

Stoutland was MVP throughout story team.
As for competitive team as long as I can fit in Lanturn and Porygon-Z I'll be happy.

>Jangmo-o learns shit and evolves late
I was thinking of getting a Bruxish but I managed to get a Lapras through Wonder Trade. Just cleared the Fire Trial. Anyone got any mons they'd like to suggest? Team is Stuffel/Torracat/Lapras/Espeon/Jangmo-o/A-Grimer/Cutiefly/Magnemite/Steenie. I'm using a bunch of mons because exp share is on and I thought I'd try the whole 10-12 mon idea.

Muk carried this team. Vikavolt and Kommo-o were deadweights that I wanted to like, Tsareena's only useful ability was trop kick since I already had two other fighting types. Passimian and Primarina were alright.

>Specially defensive A. Golem for lead with Sneaky Pebbles and Explosion if he survives two turns
>Salazzle & Mega Metagross for fast heavy hitters (special and physical respectively)
>Sp. Def/Attack Araquanid with coverage (Liquidation, Leech Life, Poison Jab, Crunch)
>Def/Sp. Attack Shiinotic for physical wall (seriously, strength sap is just disgusting, especially with the AI that don't switch out much)
>Drifblim for immunities/coverage

Not great meta wise, but good for casual fights with friends and found some success against the AI so far.
At least worked out for getting through Battle Royal.
