I'm convinced stall players hate life and want to make other players just as miserable as they are

You're just now figuring this out. I will always be anti-stall. Trash playstyle that I'm glad is having a bit of trouble this generation.

Yes, your point being? Everyone knows this. It's a fact of life.

I tried it once just to see what it was like to use it.
I had just as little fun then as I did when I was going up against it.

Question to stall players: Do you have fun. How is it fun.
I once played a stallfag who was winning but got bored 100 turns in and forfeited

I love to stall. Stall is love, stall is life. I run Mega-Venusaur, Slowbro, Skarmory, Heatran, Eviolite Chansey, and Quagsire
>>
>>30632227
how is sitting for 50+ turns spamming toxic, protect, recover, thunder wave, and regenerator u-turn fun
>>
>>30632274
>regenerator u-turn
That's only Mienshao and Tornadus that can do that, which aren't generally used in stall. The typical regen mons for stall are Slowbro, Amoonguss, Tangrowth, sometimes Alomomola, and now Toxapex.
>>
Only time I have fun is when doing theme teams. I usually get my ass handed to me but it's more fun than using the same exact pokemon and build as everybody else is

Stall is for people who don't know how to play the game anyway. Don't be concerned with such low level casuals.
>>
I take sadistic pleasure in watching enemy Pokemon die slowly to passive damage.
>>
So apparently Chansey can't carry Seismic Toss in non-pokebank.
What is she carrying as her fourth move now?
>>
>>30632934
seismic toss because no one plays non-pokebank
>>
>>30631366
I can see the purpose of the strategy, but I wouldn't use it against another player.

that said, Eviolite is pretty cool, I've been using it lately

I run PP stall Clefable and Registeel in 1v1.

I do like making people miserable.

Griefers derive glee and pleasure from the misery and growing frustration of their opponent. They are sadistic fucks, and they're unfortunately found in any competitive gaming scene.

Hey there. Stall is super fun.
You get a wonderful sense of satisfaction when your Whimsicott locks a dumbass Xerneas into Geomancy while you sub up and leech seed it to death.
>>
>>30632141
Winning is fun. It's really that simple.
>>
>>30636147
This. It's just a playstyle, if you are all bothered that much, then there are plenty of ways to counter stall.
>>
>>30636075
That's not stall, that's just Prankster.
Whimsicott is not really a defensive mon.

Also Stall is one of the reasons I think they should just put in an item clause, because those teams just slap Leftovers (or Black Sludge onto a Poison type) onto anything that isn't Chansey or Pory-2
>>
It's fun to watch people get frustrated and slowly lose hope. Noting the reactions of other players is my favorite part of PvP in any game.

That said, very rarely do I go full stall. Only when I think it's my last hope at winning.
>>
>>30631366
I just like winning and getting people to ragequit
>>
>>30636235
Item clause doesn't stop stall, it's just a bad clause that restricts teams, both offensive and defensive, for no reason
>>
I have a lot more fun playing stall instead of the usual HO. I've even been getting creative by using things like Shedinja on my team.
>>
>>30636235
Most stall teams can actually take getting their lefties all knocked off
>>
>>30632141
Answer: Yes. I have plenty of sweepers though, I just like Stall for Aegislash and Evolite Chansey.
>>
is it cancer to have one or two defensive mons on a team (of 6?)

I prefer to play pretty aggressively, but some pokemon I like are just built for defense and I always feel like they'll round my team out
>>
ITT:
>reeeee stop surviving my max spe/atk brave birb ohkos!
>reeeee why aren't my lucky crit's ohko'ING?!
I'm against any kind of spam, even if it's stall, but stall sets are the result of sweeper only teams and the shitty speed-tier metagame. Maybe think about why people have resorted to such a playstyle.
>>
>>30636697

Same here. Non-stall games end too fast and a miss or crit or hax can turn a win into a loss. Or even a person making a really bad move that ends up working for him.

Whenever I play stall it's really just super bulky offense without any hazards or protect bullshit, but I did have a team that used full hazards and whirlwind which was pretty fun. I mean if you let me get up stealth rocks + 2 toxic spikes or even sometimes 3 spikes, 2 toxic spikes, 1 stealth rock, then you deserve to lose to me spamming whirlwind.
>>
The appeal of stall, and defensive playstyles in other games, is to grind things to a halt and acquire complete dominance over how a game is played. Successfully holding control makes the player playing defensively feel good, the same way a player might feel good about his sweeper wiping out the enemy team. Sucking away the life energy of the opponent may be a bonus.
>>
I'm quite the sadist
>>
I always keep 2-3 stall mons per 6v6. It can completely change momentum when the opponent is on a run. You can force switch outs etc. Run cleric sets.

But people who run 6 stall mons are insane.
>>
I've never run stall before, but it looks really fun. Can someone give me a basic intro and pool of 'mons that work well?
>>
>>30631366
that image is terrifying oh my God

>>30631366
I only use a stall mon(Toxapex) to counter the majority of UBs because everyone has at least three.

This.
Imagine a game where you've set up things just so that the harder your opponent struggles, the worse the situation for them becomes.

They're so desperate to end it quick that it overrides their common sense.

Maybe it's because they have little patience.

Maybe it's because they didn't set aside enough time and need to finish the game quick before they have to go do something else.

Regardless of the reason, their desire to finish the game with due haste hinders their ability to think clearly. That is what the stall player seeks to exploit.

That and I'm guessing we're all control freaks.
>>
>>30639425
Let's break out the Funbro. There's no need to ever end the game.
>>
>>30632141
It's comfy.
>>

Kek. Taunt is your friend.
>>
>>30641108
Taunting something with no attacking moves might be my favorite thing in Pokemon.
>>
>>30641219
Because you hate Stall?
>>
>>30641267
Not exactly.
I hate certain means of stall and certain Pokemon used for it. Taunting just feels like you ruined the opponent's whole plan, and it's a good feeling.
>>
>>30633197
Why exactly do Smogon not enforce the Pentagon/)whatever there is in its place in SM, I haven't actually bought a 3DS Pokemon game) rule? Why can't Game Freak take moves out of Pokemon's movepools, when they can remove items or Megastones like they did with Gems from Gen 5->Gen 6? Pentagon rule is how they do that, and it's universally enforced in all of their formats, but Smogon doesn't have it for some reason.
