I wish I was kidding by the way. Female Popplios are all the rage in the GTS, but forget about putting a male Popplio in there unless someone bothers to get it for you out of pity or Dex filling.

I feel like both times it evolved it was skipping a few steps
I feel like if Brionne was made a bit smaller it could pass for the first part of an evolution line. I know someone made a mock-up middle stage between Brionne and Primarina, but I forget if it was any good.
I like Brionne and I guess Prima's alright.
Why can't Game Freak make a good set of starters anymore?
gen 1's are all great and the final forms are all what you want/expect from the first stage
gen 2's follows the same pattern, you get what you ask for
gen 3's are perfect, the only starter selection where it's hard for me to chose
gen 4's not quite 3 but still pretty good choices
in gen 5 the only starter that looks like what it turns into is snivy
gen 6's starter line is a trainwreck. Chespin looks awful after evolving, Delphox doesn't look as good as Braixen even when you aren't listening to your dick, and Grenigger is never good at any stage.
and in gen 7 at least all of the final stages look okay in their own right. Even then popplio users are going to end up with the fag-type starter and have no way to predict it, Rowlet users end up going from the cutest starter to the edgiest and also get japed out of their flying type, and Litten is probably the only starter choice that won't disappoint.

Primarina is one of the most beautiful pokemon imo, and not even necessarily in a "I'd fuck it" way. If Primarina weren't a starter and thus didn't have muh gender ratio the majority of this hate would vanish, simple as that.

Primarina is probably my least favorite starter, even more than I meme-hate on charizard for being popular.

Giving an animal character hair to signify it's supposed to be a girl is a huge pet peeve of mine in character design, plus the white eyelashes on a white backdrop, offputting eyes and seemingly pointless spikes all just add to my dislike of it.

I just don't want it to become something like Pokemon's Elsa or Rosalina, because I'm just trying my best to enjoy the game and don't want people to get surprised when they ask why I don't like it. Just because it might get popular, doesn't mean that I'm forced to like it.

I generally just don't like the themes involved and it's not a starter that clicks/meshs with me, as much as I try to like it. But I feel like this may actually happen despite me not liking it and being pretty much inevitable.
