Hey everyone, I have not played Pokemon since I 100%'d Gold on GBC way back. Now I'm really interested in getting back with Sun and Moon.
I want to have a somewhat competitive team but have no idea how to start with creating one. I basically picked my favorite Pokemon based on their designs and have come up with pic related.
Can anyone please help me figure out how I can make this team good? Thank you so much!

Drop Psycho Cut for Smart Strike on Kartana.
>>30608346
Research and showdown. That's all there is to it. Pokemon is far different now, it'll be awhile. For now just play SM casually and pick up on the new stuff.

A lot of the changes I've made were from talking to people in the Monotype room
say... trevenants unique move, forests curse gives it +1 to all stats when used as a z-move, any reason to run that over the standard harvest/sitrus set? I mean I could run it as a doubles set with a partner with switcheroo to give it a berry afterward...

Just going straight 252 evs into two different stats usually isn't the best way to go. Find your common threats and see what you need to survive them. Then there's balancing HP and defences to be optimal without wasting points, like if they have a high defense but low HP or vice versa

You're going to want to do a bit more research and planning anon. Watch some vids from guys like Pokeaimmd or CybertronVGC.
The problem with what you listed is that it has virtually no cohesion or synergy. Like, Gigalith has Sand Stream, which hurts most of your team. Nothing on your team can take a Volt Switch or a Knock Off. Type Null is not fully evolved.
The best thing to do is start with a core, or two mons that work well for each other by covering each others' weaknesses. I'll just take Slowking and A-Exeggutor as an example, not a great core but usable. Slowking eats Ice Beams that kill Exegg, Exegg takes on electrics and grasses that threaten King. King is more specially bulky and takes advantage of Regenerator so you can easily switch, A-Exegg is more physically bulky. Both function well under Trick Room.
From there, think on the weaknesses and strengths of the core. Bug types like Pheromosa or Buzzwole can beat it easily, so you may be interested in A-Marowak or Toxapex. Neither of those disrupt your core, and only help it. You can utilize Golisopod as a revenge killer, and possibly a Scarf or LO Toucannon for wallbreaking and late game cleaning. Or you might want Garchomp for electric immunity.
