Not the most balanced team but I still whooped ass. Lost to an Avalugg because I didn't know it was packing earthquake and it killed the only thing that could deal with it on the switch. My Golisopod almost beat it but all of it's moves were resisted by it so it just got whittled down.

My longest streak for Super Singles is 37.

I died a combined total of six times on battle 42 in the Maison in X and Alpha sapphire. I decided to just grind for BP to get as many items as I could in my latest playthrough and wound up BARELY winning.
I was so excited to fight Wally again.

Turns out he's not a daily fight like your rival in X and Y, and you only fight him one more time and after that he just stands there saying let's battle again some day.
This bullshit needs to stop.

88 in Super Singles. Sitting at 50 in Super Multis, partnered up with myself. I'd continue, but you can't turn off animations when playing with another 3DS. That and my laggy ass O3DS makes battles unbearably long.
Also 98 in Super Doubles, but that was using my imported rain team from ORAS.

Been wanting to scout her with any Raikou set but the Air Balloon one (She would end up killing me with Discharge) and Mega Alakazam but not only does she refuses to send them out first, she never even uses them in the same team, in fact she's yet to use Mega Alakazam; I currentlyhave her with the Shuca Berry Raikou set and Sacred Fire Entei tho so it's not that bad aside from the fact her Entei could end up fucking me up with Bulldoze

Lead Mimikyu, SD until disguise is broken. If your opponent is sonehow faster/you don't wanna risk the play rough miss, use leech life. At 2 SD, it can pretty much chunk anything that isn't physically defensive or a fire type.

If you wanna replace a 'mon, celesteela was very situational. If you can pack another bulky offensive mon with coverage, use that.

In hindsight, maybe if I had just attacked with Mimikyu instead of setting up a swords dance, Clefable couldve finished it off with the first flamethrower, I just really wasn't expecting a priority physical steel attack I had never seen before. It's a fucking egg move for christ's sake. Still, even if Clefable took out Lucario, she probably wasn't gonna last through 2 more unless they were both special attackers she wasn't weak to.

Koko can OHKO a lot of pokes just with LO and terrain boosted Tbolt so he makes a pretty solid lead.

My tactic is simplistic as fuck: send in Ninetales first, sweep everything you can without dying, set up Aurora Veil when close to dying, send in Xurkitree, raise speed and maybe get an enemy asleep with Z-Hypnosis, set Tail Glow if not last enemy mon, sweep everything in vicinity. Golisopod is for revenge kills and stuff that Ninetales and Xurkitree can't handle, also sometimes used to maintain momentum if a second Aurora Veil is needed. I just lost to the Stockpile/Poison Jab Muk, but overall this thing works pretty well. Suggestions?

Got 58 on singles with starter decidueye, life orb nihilego and ashninja.
Decidueye was essentially the slow pivot to let the others getting easy kos to setup.
Nothing spectacular but it worked, now I can box the fucker with honor.

I doubt their servers can handle the strain now any more than they could then, so they're just waiting until it won't be literally every single possible player at once trying it.

To be honest, these are just mons I've bred and trained for VGC. I was too lazy to change their moves just for the Battle Tree.

It can be useful sometimes, though. For example when you want Garchomp to EQ and not kill Koko or Marowak. Or when you wanna keep something alive against something fast that dies to your other pokemon (happened very often with marowak since it's so fucking slow). It's also good for when you're expecting an explosion.

But yeah they can be easily replaced with something else.

Don't ever bring Colress with you.
Other trainers might be useless, but at least they don't actually harm you. Colress makes his metagross explode at the drop of a hat, even if your Pokemon is the only non-ghost on the field.
Honestly, that breeder chick you start with is more useful than any of the legends I've got.

Assault vest Buzzwole is doing shockingly well in the tree.
It's so satisfying accumulating attack boosts, shrugging off attacks, and then leeching back to full hp.

When going through a route, I kept a guy with false swipe and another with t-wave, and then just overwrote them with better attavks when a big battle was coming up.

I wouldn't mind the battle tree so much if it wasn't literally impossible to account for all of the bullshit hax it throws at you.

Pretty much the ONLY way you can deal with Quick Claw OHKOs is to have a Sturdy mon, but 95% of the rest of the time it's just dead weight. You need ghosts, wallbreakers, evasion bypassers, sub breakers - it goes on.

You should be able to have a team of 6 and then you choose your three as a battle progresses, eventually locking your other choices once you have sent three out.

No longer are you fucked by niche strategies you cannot counter, and if you have a team of 6 that can't feasibly deal with any threat then it's because of a lack of coverage, not because you were just unlucky.

The way the shit hax works, the only thing you end up doing is picking three sweepers and praying they die before they can start some bullshit. The format actually punishes strategy in its current state, because you cannot afford to be clever.

I used a shitmon team for a in-game challenge, now I can't get past the 1st person in the battle tree.

What should I train? I'm thinking about using Golsipod, Garchomp and Ash Grenigger Because they're the only ev trained mons I have. Will it do the trick in singles?

So I want to do multi battles with a friend of mine, however I always restrict myself to monotype only when doing solo challenges, and I'm not really sure what to whip out for the co-op action.

Any recommendations?

My first choice would be Porygon2, because I fucking love that duck, but I have no idea how outdated it is for "doubles".

At 40 atm in Super singles with Weavile , Mega Scizor and Ursaring. Pretty easy so far.

Would I have a chance at 50 Singles with Tapu Koko, Decidueye and MegaMence or should I try to actually include a more defensive mon.

It should do fine. At the very least, it'll get you enough to get a destiny knot and start breeding.
UBs or Tapus are also good. They come at a high enough level, with 3 perfect IVs. As long as you get a good nature, you can just toss them onto the EV island for a couple nights and they're good to go.

I'm bored so here's an early battle tree composition of mine.

Tapu Lele
Mega Metagross
Everything on this team is weak to ghost and dark. Terrible idea right? Not really given how this team also destroys those very types. The AI showers you with ghost and dark types, resulting me seeing grimsley 4 times in a row.

Mimikyu as lead destroys ghost types with a +2 Shadow Sneak. Throw on a lum berry and status is dealt with. Play rough destroys weak dark types and 2hkos neutral dark types at +2. Wood Hammer is there to destroy the fucker known as walrein.

Tapu Lele completely destroys ghosts and dark types with moonblast and shadow ball. Psychic wallbreaks things.

Mega Metagross runs coverage for everything. Fighting for bisharp. Earthquake for steel. Psychic for stab coverage. Bullet punch for emergency priority.

Given that many dark types are slowish this team usually outspeeds and kills.

Lele's psychic terrain when used correctly deals with priority, mainly shadow sneak and sucker punch on both sides but Mimikyu is lead and usually dies first so it doesn't really matter.

My Mega-Metagross got stall-walled by a Vespiquen. It was actually the most obnoxious shit I've ever seen. It had protect/toxic/heal order/defend order and quick claw, with pressure it just stalled it out so that I ran out of pp. Fucking annoying as fuck, a shame though, pressure could be a lot better if it wasn't cutting pp usage in half but instead reducing the pp max to the pp default total. Then you'd see some real obnoxious stall game that would take advantage of pressure to run a pokemon out of moves. Everyone's running around with their pokemons with maxed out pp online so pressure doesn't really apply any actual threat.

Assault Vest Golisopod, Leftovers Milotic, Focus Sash Salazzle. Golisopod can handle a lot of teams by himself, as can Milotic. Salazzle is the weak link on the team, but I needed something to deal with all of the Steel types and especially the obnoxious fucking stall shit that infests the entire tree. Being able to Toxic anything and then outwall it with Milotic has helped me a lot.

it's ridiculous how bad the ai is when they vs disguise, my mimikyu alone swept so many trainers and even 50 streak Red. on the same note, the ai never expects z conversion, so you can safely bring in porygon z into a fighting mon cause the ai will most definitely try to ohko you with a fighting move, only for you to z conversion into a ghost type. you can also z conversion to an electric type to prevent paralysis but ghost conversion has been clutch for me personally in a few situations.

If you run the Haze/Toxic/Scald/Recover set with HP and mixed Bulk or full on either def/Sp.def you can make it work. I did atleast. Not implying any other EV spread can't work. Just be very careful with electric/Ground and psychic heavy hitters from the Sp.def spectrum. The furthest I got was with a Tankchomp (Defensive), Toxapex (Full HP and balanced (Nature+)Def/Sp.def) for Calm mind/DD/SD Bullshit and to get rid of stallers on my own with toxic. Mega Metagross as a kind of wall breaker. Ground kinda reks me but I've not had much issue with that desu. The only bad experience was Grimsley with his retarded fucking Scrafty. Fucker's shed skin would proc every time on toxic but somehow not on scald's burn sometimes. He ran Bulk up, Payback,Drain punch and I forgot what other move he had.

No not at all, Kommo-o reaches 295 speed with max investment which is enough to outpace a majority of the tree because they usually use offensive natures. Have you even tried the set? No? Then shut up. Kommo-o dents fucking everything after an SD and if it does manage to get outsped it can tank the hit well then proceed hit back like a freight train. Maybe things are different in Super Singles but Kommo-o did well enough for me in normals.
