He has a bike and starts out with Umbreon and Espeon (the only cool and acceptable Eeveelutions).
His coolness is diluted a bit by his follower though. Game would have been 20x better without her.

You say that yet Lusamilf has a musical nod to Colosseum/Gale Of Darkness/Battle Revolution in her theme. Not saying that Wes, Rui, Michael or anyone else has a chance of appearing in a main series game any time soon, just that Game Freak hasn't entirely forgotten about the side series.

The best way I have seen is

Minimal fuckery, gives you lots of "lives" which is important in doubles, where someone can get double crit out of bumfuck nowhere.

Fuck man he really was the coolest. Rui wasn't the most attractive but I think that had more to do with the art style of colosseum.

A shame a lot of the options were bad, but I'd still love to have different body builds in a mainline game.

I'd read a short manga about the adventures of Wes and Rui, Rui can't fight or be a trainer but I'd at least like some reason t o know why she can see shadow pokemon and nobody else can.

Weirdest thing of all is that it exists in the pokemon world yet Orre has a very low population of wild pokemon and most of the trainers are locals with little nods to Kanto,Johto and Hoenn

He's so unabashadly over the top edge that it rolls around and becomes genuinely cool
