Actually, I find I can still spin and catch stuff as normal with the Go Plus when I'm riding the bus.

I like it though since it lets me keep playing passively when I can't take my phone out, like if I go shopping in busy streets, bad weather, etc. The distance tracking is especially valuable.

Team Mystic is back in force in my town, high level gyms are popping up again.

But fuck the variety of Pokémon. Nearly everything locally is a fucking Magnemite or Voltorb now, including areas which used to have some enticing spawns because they're parks or shopping areas.
The spawns are really fucking dull right now but they've already announced new Pokémon details to be announced on the 12th, so maybe it won't last.

Local Instinct team is filled with obvious, flagrant botters and spoofers, but they must be paying Niantic some serious dollars since they're not being banned despite an entire alliance's worth of reports. Why these crusty cumrags don't try visiting gyms elsewhere is beyond me, since I would imagine using a program to hold 20 gyms in a local area and using a program to hold 20 gyms across Canada or Europe would be just as easily detectable as each other.

I'm more enthralled with this game than the main series games because the pokédex is the result of your own effort, and not brainless trading back and forth between friends. I'm going to lose interest in this game when trading hits for that aspect, and then also how when one perfect IV Dragonite spawns, suddenly the spoofers have teams of 20 perfect Dragonites each.

Gym battling would be interesting if Dragonite (and soon Tyranitar) didn't exist. I would love the effort of powering up a diverse team of pokémon to be worth the effort, and to have it be exciting to attack a gym with, but there is no reason to not have 6 Dragonites storming every gym, all the time. As my pokémon-inclined friends have told me, this series and the concept of balance are as far removed as we are from Andromeda, but seeing it in action with my own eyes is really disheartening. I guess I'm making a Pupitar my permanent buddy, soon as I find one, since that's the only family worth spending stardust on.

All that aside, I'm having fun filling my own pokédex.

Good 90 min to walk and knock down the three level 10 gyms. All started at 27000 last one had 5 dragonites over 3k to 3.3k. Burned through 40 max revives.
