We don't really know what sets are the best for singles so it might vary (still a huge buff if defensive and a pretty big buff if offensive). In doubles it's going to be straight up crazy. Counters Celesteela, shuts down physical attackers, has Fake Out, Throat Chop for Hyper Voice users on top of having a good defensive typing and great defences

In doubles, plenty. It's going to be a pretty good support mon. It's going to compete with Arcanine, though who is faster, resists fairy and can go special (ie doesn't care about intimidate).

I go with Assault Vest on him, though, hence the above. If you don't use AV, Will-o-Wisp and/or U-Turn can be used for utility. Otherwise switch out a move for Earthquake if you want.

When his HA comes out Intimidate with Will-o-Wisp, Leech Life, Leftovers, and a focus on SpD will make him a heck of a tank.

I mean, that one good quadruped art above sated my curiosity of him on all fours the way people draw most bipedal pokemon on all fours sooner or later, and so the deed is done. It's to the point where he looks weird NOT on two legs, which is good.

I'm almost okay with his hand size by now if they keep it even semi-pawlike like in his Dream World art, the leaked stock art, or the piece you just posted, but I'm fairly clear on enjoying him being 'bipedal tiger wrestler' than 'muscleman who happens to have a cat head and long nails'. I think they're smarter. I mean, incineroar never attack pokemon they think are weaker than them, and sometimes they won't listen to their trainers because they're too prideful.

They also seem to understand emotions pretty good, since they love to entertain both pokemon and human children and make them happy.

My starter Incineroar is running Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, Leech Life, and Brick Break which will be replaced by Outrage when he can learn it. Getting my hands on some Leftovers has been a bit tricky at the moment.

Assuming he can learn these moves if and when a tutor comes out in another Gen VII game, I'm going to overwrite Flare Blitz with Fire Punch and Leech Life with Drain Punch. Does this sound like a good set? I'm hoping Carbink won't wall him too much once he gets Outrage.

Outrage is a terrible move on all non-dragon types.

Ideal set is FO/Flare Blitz/Lariat and the last slot can be used for a support move of your choosing. Taunt is probably the best in most situations.

If Drain Punch eventually becomes an option, you can always run both it and Leech Life to make Flare Blitz recoil irrelevant and run Assault Vest since you're going all attacks in slots. Earthquake for Carbink too, maybe?

Sounds good! Remember Drain Punch isn't a legal move yet.

Based on what you want, I'd say Flare Blitz, Darkest Lariat, Leech Life, and Brick Break. If you want superb special defense, run Assault Vest as your item, if you want even more recovery do Leftovers. Stat-wise spread points in HP, attack, defense as you see fit.

Yes Incineroar is Fire/Dark, and yes there's some sense that he is Fire/Dark, however it shares pretty much every single design choice with the other Fire Fighters, including a humanoid muscular body that barely resembles the base animal anymore, an animal face and focus on a certain fighting style. And to boot it has some fucking terrible proportions. I really don't understand, GF had a good thing going on with stuff like Machamp and Buzzswole and then Incineorar looks like a Space Jam scrapped design.

It's not original or fun, it brings nothing new, and a generic fire tiger would actuallly be more original at this point, because brawler-esque fire starters are done to death

If muscle build is necessary for a hero build then Incineroar doesn't have a hero build because Incineroar doesn't have any muscle definition. It's implied he has muscle because he has broad shoulders, but the arms are just cilinders, and the body it's equal. Hell has more muscle definition than Incinceroar, at least has visible joints and does the whole big hands things better without looking retarded. Giving Blaziken decent wrists was a good move.

And yes you're splitting hairs, there's tons of wrestlers, tons of pokémon with Incicneroar's build and tons of fire starters that look like it, but apparentely he's fresh and original because it's based on a niche wrestling subcategory. heroic build isn't about muscle but shape, the upside down triangle, I bring up muscle on Kamen Rider because as you said they are slender, but their armor sculpting makes up for it and gives the reverse triangle look the heroic build has, and incineroar has that (broader shoulders, smaller waist)

we only have three wrestling pokemon - Hariyama line, Hawlucha, and Incineroar, all unique with their distinct style (sumo, lucha libre, puroresu). There's only Machamp and Conkeldurr line aside from Incineroar that has the heroic build. And yes, he is fresh and original not only because he reps puroresu, but because they play out the kayfabe nature.

I swear, only idiots or people pretending to be idiots would have that mindset.

The Japanese fan art made me realize I like the official thin limbs if his torso is on the buff side while the overall body is lithe-ish, while the fan art that bulks up his limbs and keeps him overall bulky is just as great.

I weirdly (?) don't like defined (especially super defined) muscles in the slightest on him though, but that is personal taste by this point.

Everytime I see more-than-sketchy Incineroar art it's fur.

Right now Incineroar is the main reason I'm considering a mono-fire or mono-dark run through Moon, once I pick it up. I don't really know what I'd do for Mono-Dark, though. Incineroar, Raticate, Murkrow, Absol.. What else is there, really? Persian? Can I catch a Carvanha or Sharpedo?
