I prefer Pineco's design too. But the more I thought about the natural progression of a pinecone to a chestnut, both prickly tree growths, the more I appreciated Forretress.

And do you know the best way to open a chestnut, Anon? You roast it and it pops open. So they gave it Bug/Steel, which reinforces the hardness, but also keeps true to the inspiration with its massive Fire weakness. Truly a good design.

That's what got me. Just last night I re-realized that Gilgar not only existed as a pogie, but that it also had an evolution. I don't think I remember the last time I saw them in a game, which is odd considering it was in most games in Gens IV-VI
