Unless I'm remembering this wrong, I think all prior Pokemon gens have Game Freak name or logo being featured somewhere during beginning of the game, beside XY and ORAS. But somehow the GF featuring routine revived in SM during prologue cutscene. Really makes you think if GF was ashame of producing Gen 6 but are now confident enough that they can redeem themselves with Gen 7, in term of receptions and sales.

Nothing any individual does is going to affect Game Freak's money train. That doesn't mean people can't think Pokémon is dying artistically (as opposed to financially, it clearly isn't). Spongebob is alive and well from a financial standpoint but is gutter trash artistically.

That being said SM is at least better than XYORAS. It's a two-steps-forward-one-step-back kind of better, but that's still a net step forward.
