Magnemite and Beldum both have a 10% chance of appearing at least, even if the chance of them holding a Metal Coat is 5%.
Getting a Razor Claw would have been much worse since the only way to get one is 5% on wild Jangmo-o and relatives, who again only have a 5% percent chance of appearing. Luckily SOS battles are a godsend when it comes to cases like that. Just pop an Adrenaline Orb and switch in that Thief user and get to work.

I almost caught them all in Gen 4.

I wanna say I had a near complete Platinum Dex but lacked the event only mons, which at the time were Gamestop exclusive, I was 16 and didn't know how to drive, and lived way too far away to warrant a trip.

Almost got a DS Action Replay, considering that's how I got the even only mons for Gen 3.
